Just the same as Sky subscriptions. People continue to pay for it despite the year on.year increases. Supply and demand. Each to their own.
Sheff Weds will be the same or more for certain. Plenty of time to organise something properly if you want .
Each person makes up their own mind. If you need a boycott to express principles then perhaps you haven't got any firm belief. I don't need someone to organise a boycott to tell me that £37 is a rip off I can see it with my eyes. If we don't act we get what we deserve. We are part of the problem rather than the solution. Still from my point of view I'm going to donate £37 quid to Help for Heroes seems a better way to spend my money.
It was £46 when we played them in 2013 - Danny's first game I went but only because I was still sh*tfaced from Mad Friday the day before Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Personal choice regarding what people pay. Dislike being preached to though. If it gets too expensive simply don't go your own choice but don't tell others what they should and shouldn't do! Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk
Some interesting comments in this thread I have no idea how some fans are supposed to organise a boycott if they are not happy with the price. How exactly can that be done? I genuinely dont know, and I have also no idea how it could work Which is more right? Those who cant afford or dont think its right to pay £37 telling those who want to support the team they shouldnt go Or those who can afford and want to support the team but are ignoring the fact that many are being priced out of watching a team they love and perpetuating the ever increasing round of price hikes For me its simple £37 is just too much for a second division football match and I wont pay it. I cant stop others going though organised boycott or not
I'll be honest here redarmychris but you aren't coming across very well on this subject. You say you feel abject due to ppl saying that fans who are going are being called morons etc.... But then go all defensive and start telling folk what they should be doing and start becoming headteacher like on here and ram it down everyone's throat that you are going blah de blah de blah and that the boycott was a failure etc.... Personally you don't come across very well. Just my opinion Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
I'm not calling anyone names though. All I'm saying is that if you feel so strongly about a boycott that it makes you call others insulting names then why not actually make the effort to make a difference. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'll not get personal here as it's not what I do but I've been to Leeds in past and paid £36 and actually felt a mug for paying it.....even when we won. This time I choose not to pay as football is getting too expensive and £37 is just stupid now particularly when you can go watch any premier league game away for £30 or less. Calling ppl names is wrong I agree tho Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
I hate paying owt over 20 quid.. 25 tops begrudgingly. But if other folk want to its up to them... Football, and including our ... Super Red and White Wizards... Can go and get ******..
Not been to Leeds since Bates moved us into the most expensive part of the ground and racked up the price to £40. My own choice but I understand why ardent reds fans don't want to miss a game no matter what the price. However, I'm not sure how the boycott attempt was poorly planned. How much planning does it take? All it needs is for people to refuse to pay stupid prices but that is never going to happen even with military planning and a letter to every fan proposing to buy a ticket. I've no qualms about anyone going on Saturday and I'm sure the players will appreciate the support. What I will say is that if the price had been £20 we would more than likely have took nearer 5,000 than 2,000 so charging daft money has definitely put people off.
I have 2 old tickets here for our nationwide division 1 (championship) matches at home against sheffield united and wolves in 1997 (east stand lower): the price is 9 £. Natural inflation calculation puts this at 15.21£ today. Would we all regularly go to the pub or out for a meal if booze and food had also followed the hyper- inflated price that football has? So for me the prices are utterly bonkers and I am not prepared to pay so much over the odds to go, even though i'm lucky enough to be able to do so financially.
