If every time you went to the cinema you were sold tickets by a muscly guy wearing nothing but a pair of speedos, and they had other similarly clad guys dotted around strutting about, flirting and flashing their muscles whilst selling food and checking tickets etc. you'd probably stop going pretty sharpish. You probably also wouldn't want your young daughter (and son most likely) to visit that place either. Now think carefully about why you wouldn't want to go. It's still the same film, you can still enjoy that and ignore the guys, right? Now think why women might not want to watch the sports who have the girls doing those things or why they might not want their children to attend. From a business point of view, why would you want to alienate half of the population and their kids? Why should the women who do decide to still go as they love the sport be made to feel uncomfortable? And what about the wider impact of how it portrays women? Yes, the girls are happy doing their jobs but that doesn't mean that the other consequences should just be ignored. It's outdated and unnecessary.

I'd have said the same about Suzi Wolfe - just not quite quick enough to get a F1 drive before she retired

Not quite but very nearly got there. Disappointed that Danica Patrick never made the switch to F1 as well, I think she could have made it

Do you speak for all women in your generalisation and assumptions of why they may avoid watching certain sports..

I like it how youve stripped men down to nothing yet appear to have no gumption on the dress code and eticate of a grid girl...

I see that theres no comment of the likes of cyrus ora gaga veyonce etc whos career is bad songs full of overtly sexualised lyrics dancing in a provocative manner, who are regualry photographed wearing less than a grid girl but thats empowerment for womens rights.

Meanwhile another 30 women in Iran have been arrested and facing god knows what for removing their various head scarves

I may have to contact Bono to see if he will get involved in a Wankaid concert for those poor underprivileged boys who no longer get to jizz over ‘grid Girls’.
