It ll be like when they privatised things in the first place. We too can buy shares in the NHS . They'll be laughing all the way to the bank and everyone will be saying competition will save us money. Will it b*******.
But the journalism isn't "correct" is it? It is just insinuations and innuendo as nowhere is there evidence that a) personal details are involved (which to re-iterate would be illegal) and b) is taken from the standpoint that BJ is a liar (proven) but his insistence that the NHS is NOT for sale IS a lie (not proven). It is all part of the 'game' payed by both sides trying to discredit each other in the run up to the election. Both sides are equally guilty of that. Corbyn waving bits of paper in the air does not mean his allegations are true. In fact they were discredited and only BJs reputation have given them any legs. I seem to recall from history (Neville Chamberlain returning from Munich anyone??) waving pieces of paper around proves nothing.
And the right wing Tory press don't spread mistruths, slander and vile gossip at all do they? They're whiter than white and uphold a sense of moral integrity at all times....
I don't think you can categorically state that the journalism isn't correct. I'm not a journalist and don't have access to the sources myself so I have to make a judgement based on the information I've read. If it turns out to be incorrect that's fine by me but at the moment I'll bear it's possible truth in mind as I've not come across anything anywhere which contradicts it. As regards the article itself there was actually no mention of personal details in any case, just data. So, I would assume (yes I can assume from that) that the data is overall patterns of drug use, disease rates, cancer screening aggregates etc etc....As to the comments about Johnson which you make, if you accept that Johnson has a history of lying (which you do) then you must surely have SOME concerns that he may be lying about US involvement in the NHS. Surely. If you refute that, then you are burying your head in the sand and refusing to be critical even when there is a possibility that this article and documents like it do suggest something underhand. I do agree with you about both sides trying to score points off each other during an election campaign, but I think, regarding the matter in hand, the article, it IS a concern if we are worried about the commitment to the NHS in the long-term. To imply there is nothing to worry about, as you seem to be doing, is to be over-trusting of a serial liar/ a political party that covers things up. If you're not implying that I've misread you of course. As to Corbyn waving bits of paper, he can wave as many about as he likes. He can jump up and down or do cartwheels. I'm not bothered. All I am bothered about on this issue is the NHS and for me, Corbyn is committed to it, so I'll take his Neville Chambelain impression over Johnson's Coco the Clown impression any day of the week
Of course I have suspicions. I don't really trust Johnson given his track record but that whilst suspicion is one thing, assuming guilt based on that as many are suggesting on here (i.e. selling the NHS is almost a dead cert under the Cons) is wrong. If that was right, in law, anyone with a record would be guilty as charged without a trial. Unfortunately, having lived through a number of Labour Governments I am afraid I could use the same argument against Corbyn and McDonnell when it comes to keeping militant unions in check and balancing the books. Each Labour Govt from the time of Harold Wilson has managed to nearly bankrupt the UK, spending what we have not got. Unfortunately, many people don't understand the difference between deficit and debt so blame Conservative Govts when they see Debt rising under them, completely oblivious to the fact that the previous Labour administrations increased the deficit through excessive borrowing (and, in fairness, they also lucked out in 2008). You only have to look at the markets to realise what the prospect of Labour Govts do to sterling at Election times. If there is a sniff of them gaining power sterling plummets. I do not believe the current Labour manifesto (allegedly fully costed) takes into account the subsequent flight of capital and plunging pound should they miraculously gain power.
But neither do the Tory spending plans take into account the economy nosediving when they crash out of the EU.
data breaches tend to include financial information - there's little value in personal data that doesn't open the door to fraud - too much risk for too little gain. Analysts would get little value knowing the names of data subjects; knowing how many diabetics there are in Barnsley is useful - knowing how many diabetics are called John is ******* useless.
Well...you've moved on to several other issues here which I could debate with you for a while. I have my own views of course. As to the op I'll stick with my distrust about the Tories and the nhs. No doubt you will stick to your opinion too... I've done on this one now or I'll get bogged down with endless replies. Cheers
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-50699168 Well it looks like our lovely government seem more bothered about the source of the leaked documents regards US / UK healthcare as apposed to what was actually contained within said documents . Looks like " Russia" is going to be the narrative used to discredit any politician who dares to stand up and say no . So Russia put trump in the Whitehouse apparently , but now Russia are trying to discredit any trade deal with the aforementioned trump . Up is down , black is white in this modern age of politics .
I'm not normally one for conspiracy theories, but I'd like to proffer the following; Leaked government papers handed to the Labour party via Russian internet accounts will have no fingerprints of Dominic Cummings on them (he has known links to Russia and this is a smart way of using them), and just like the Brexit campaign - we'll land in the **** and the Tories will just say 'well you all knew the NHS was for sale - Corbyn told you so'*. The whole Tory campaign is based on double bluffs; using badly constructed messages to shift the story to where they want it to go. Fact check site, doctored videos, leaked documents = all politicians are untrustworthy, which effectively neutralises BoJo's biggest weakness (that he's untrustworthy) *Exact mirror of the Brexit campaign where Brexiteers talked constantly of easy deals and customs unions, then after the vote when they changed tack to No Deal - they used the only pre vote evidence that No Deal was a possibility which was... 'David Cameron kept telling you this would happen'.
Not much to disagree with there Donny red . If you let the truth out , but marginalize that truth then when it becomes reality then you can spout that democracy spoke but no one listened so the people must have wanted it . I do tend to follow politics from the US / Europe and it's copy and paste behaviour across the board . Scary stuff when you realise there's no where to escape to .
This videos currently doing the rounds in the US ( obviously not on CNN , MSMBC and the like ) . It will just give you an idea of what the yanks pay . Up to 30k for a baby anyone ?
