Speaking to his Sales Manager (in complete confidence) once, he told me that as far as brass was concerned, he was extremely "tight" and would literally have skinned a fart for its smell. !!!! The company were once involved in replacing some of their clapped out machines with new state of the art extruders and he instructed those involved in the decision making process to attend a summit in Bern. He sent an agenda and itinerary for a two day event involving a visit to the factory where the extruders were manufactured and to his surprise the Sales Manager was gobsmacked to learn that instead of flying to Switzerland, he was told he had to take the ferry from Dover and once in Calais there would be a car waiting for him for his onward journey to Bern. Apparently, that wasn't an isolated incident as other key delegates from other parts of the country were told to do the same and where possible, if two or more lived in close proximity, they were told to share the car and the driving.
All this talk of loans, collateral, borrowing and bonds. I thought our owners were billionaires? They surely wouldn't lie would they? Mr Conway never fibs. He's always been honest with us fans hasn't he?
