It's not one or the other. The fan shouldn't have been on the pitch and sounds like a complete fool. I even agree with the sentiment he got what he deserved. However verbal abuse is not justification for physical assault. For me it shouldn't even be in court its a complete waste of money doing so. A fine or some community service would do for McBurnie. Lifetime Banning order and a fine for the idiot fan.
No he shouldn't. But why mention something completely random that isn't relevant to what happened? Likewise McBurnie shouldn't be punished for saving a little old lady from an house fire as that too has absolutely no relevance to what happened.
Both sound like total bellends. Surprised the complainant didn't rock up to court in a neck brace for added effect.
Agreed 100%. Now I know this may be hard for you to take in as its not a Tweet from right wing nut job but I will try again - stamping on someone who is already on the floor is not self defence.
Wonder if all the people defending McBurnie would be saying the same if it had been Joey Barton instead?
You are of course assuming the fans story is correct and has no mistuths or important omissions I dont know the evidence other than what is in this story and reporting one side only in this way can be very misleading - Ive seen reports of court proceedings before where I had a full set of facts and just looking at one side can give a very skewed view But I guess its for the Magistrate to decide if there is any real case against McBurnie In any case he is accused of stamping on someones shin - on a football pitch isnt that just a red card and a 3 game ban
After hearing the Judges summing up and dismissal of the case you have to question how the chuff the CPS brought the case in the first place
Yes, while I still think McBurnie was in the wrong wrong with his reaction a criminal prosecution was ridiculous.
given they couldn't even get a conviction on the evidence for Barton, there was no way this was going to be a guilty verdict. The absolute bell drop should be fined for wasting everyone’s time and be banned from football grounds for life. Like I said if you look at the video there’s absolutely no evidence he deliberately stamped on this chump, you could just as easily say he was jumping out of the flying pillocks way when he took his tumble.
