Im not questioning weather he is a nice guy or not im sure he is but were looking for a bloke to pick the players up and get them winning games again is he the man? No doesnt look like it.
I keep hearing we should have kept schopp but anyone with a 6% win ratio playing a boring style struggling to create or score will be under pressure.
What we should have done is give it to a experienced manager untill the end of season there was plenty available but we give it to a sweedish u21s coach who talks about developing players says it all really.

And so he should be, shown absolutely nothing so far in terms of results or positive communication.

I don't disagree, but we have to accept that was just never going to happen under this ownership.

The net effect of getting rid of Schopp is we had to pay him off and get another coach in (and assistant) where we'll have had to pay compensation. We've currently traded a 6% win percentage for a 0% win percentage and look even less likely to have possession in the opponents half let alone create a chance or heaven forbid score.

What we have done is get a yes man who is going to steer us into the lower divisions. My season ticket will not be renewed & whilst these carpet baggers are in charge I'll be ending my 46 year support of the football club. I may be a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.... Some day....

Schopp had a 6% win ratio after 18 games was it? Thats probably the worst of any barnsley manager i can remeber. if schopp wins tomorrow his win ratio junps above that. Poya talks about progress and development and i think hes here to stay these owners dont care what division were in they want to develop young players for profit and trade players and a u21s coach from sweeden is the ideal candidate to do this.
The other problem is the style of play i know you didnt like vals but the constant attempt to play out from the back asif were man city has cost us all season as we dont have the players for it.

At present i won't be renewing with conman and his mates at the wheel. Sad really because for me i go and enjoy spending time with my young en (who still likes it and will be gutted if we dont go) aswell as the football but i just cant give these my hard earner money way they are running it into the ground and treating the fans.

Theres little difference between the two. Sacking Schopp has cost money we don't have. Appointing Asbaghi and his assistant has cost us money we don't have. So hindsight given the two options is a pretty straight forward one to have kept Schopp.

I think our problems haven't stemmed from playing out (not that we do very often, we generally hoof it to nobody). I think our problems are more from a lack of a press reverting to a mid block while still playing a very high line. Couple that with zero midfield and we have what we have.

If we weren't going for a short term experienced manager personally I'd have stuck with Schopp purely financially. I'd have used this time to source a coach who used the press ready for the summer, a new broom, a new season knowing which players they'll be working with.
There is a worry that we'll take the losing mentality into L1 with us otherwise.

Look at the blackburn game for instance we gifted the a goal and a handful of chances from.overplaying and playing out from the back and losing possession in our own half Huddersfields goal similar been happening all season.

We got 2million for val but most likely wasted all that on these two clowns. Instead of poya we could have got a decent experienced manager untill the eos who was a free agent.

We've also conceded plenty of goals where oppositions have just turned us with one simple ball over the top or running right through the middle of us. Our problem is our midfield, we've not conceded many at all that I can think of where our goalkeeper or defenders have been pressed to lose the ball.

Lets be honest he had to go he came from a austrian league where the clear cattle off the pitch before games and played infront of 500 fans he was well out of his depth, arrogant, no connection to the fans, poor football and a 6% win rate

Luton we almost conceded when we were pressed, blackburn palmer so deep in his own half gets pressed plays a poor pass goes to there man 1 nil down. Problem all season is we have played too much negative stuff in our own half

It's time we stopped employing uninspiring head coaches and went for someone with a bit of passion and energy.

    Like this guy...

"You score one, you get one free,
I said, you score one, you get one free!"

Plus he's clued in about flexible payment options. I bet he could even explain the £750k.

So the first, we didn't concede, and the second came from a midfield mistake.

And any reason for retaining the ball deep is because we have no midfield outlet or much of an outlet up top. What we often do is pass the ball around at the back, have no outlet in midfield, come under a little bit of pressure and because confidence is low, hit a ball forwards thats then lost.

I could go through every goal we have conceded but i really havent got time the luton and blackburn ones were off the top of my head. Many teams dont even bother wasting their energy pressing our back line for helik to turn sideways and play a ball to kitching who plays it to collins back to helik its not even football and it causes the opposition zero issues.

We could play it into midfield and lose it. We could hoof it up front, and lose it. We could play it across the backline and play it into midfield or upfront and lose it. We've done all of those things this season.

Anyway. We are where we are. Whatever our relative opinions on playing style, we're in the mire well and truly.
