I can't see he has said anything about the fans not being onside in this instance, quite rightly asking that we continue to get behind them. He said it better in English than anyone on here (bar Stahlost) could attempt in Austro-German. We've had a number of managers who have got to the point of being regularly slated and social media has turned toxic - Spackman, Davey, Parking, Morais ..... now Schopp, but in my experience even when they have literally been at last chance saloon, the fans at Oakwell have been fully behind the lads on the pitch pre-kick off. Until things go wrong .......
The worry is that on the face of it Tuesday's defeat points to us being too attacking and open and would lend itself to a park the bus strategy - that would be fine if we were looking at hatfulls of chances which might be less as a result. As out attacking threat is absolutely zero, cutting it back even more is going to make us look even more like we're just waiting to lose.
Don't see anything wrong with what he's said there, just needs to show the players are listening and that they are behind him on the pitch tomorrow.
I'm prepared to give the guy benefit of the doubt, he's admitting some players need to step up and results aren't good enough so let's see what team and formation he plays. I'll even tolerate 3-4-3 if he gets square pegs in square holes. If he picks Ben Williams at left back and Styles in midfield that'll be all my patience used up.
Same here, he seems a nice guy when he speaks and hard to dislike him but his decision making and team selection are very poor. I hope he doesn't pick odour as a forward and expect something diffrent and I'm not too keen on seeing freezer start after his last 2 no shows
I'll have a look at starting line-up at 2pm tomorrow afternoon. If it looks half decent. No Brittain in midfield, Ben Williams or Oduor up front i'll be sat at home with remote in one hand beer in other. Flicking between racing and our Jeff on Soccer Special. If teams picked out of a lucky bag again I'll just be tuning into full-times at 5pm.
The biggest frustration for me is he seems to be clinging on to the fact that we create the occaisional chance. He needs to worry more about the fact that we are regularly getting outplayed. Let's face it, since half time at QPR, our better displays have still not been very good.
For me it's like watching us under late Stendel without the goal mouth action. I wouldn't mind this style n' quick possession based football if it yielded shots on goal and we were just unlucky.
It’s not necessarily the fact that we’re on a bad run and can’t win a game. It’s more the fact we don’t remotely look threatening enough to even put ourselves in a position to win one. QPR??? look how that ended. We’re just ***** full stop at the minute. That’s my view anyway.
Too true…. It’s obvious Schopp’s on another planet when you look at him during games. The players look the same to me as well barring Collins. This clown’s certainly no motivator from what I’ve seen so far.
