My step daughter (who lives in Germany) is a founder member of the "Nobody tells me what to do" brigade. She won't have a vaccine, she ignores all rules about social distancing, she refuses to wear a mask (and in fact she now has a fraudulently obtained exemption certificate) and won't take any tests. I was recently in Germany, partly to attend the 88th birthday of my mum in law who's a lovely lady, but she's not in perfect health, so is vulnerable. She's treble-jabbed but nevertheless still vulnerable. Her sister, who is 98 (yes, ninety-eight!) was also due to attend. I told her that there's no way her unvaccinated loony granddaughter should attend the birthday party, but if she does she should at the very least get a test the day before. Her response? "I'm not sticking that bloody thing up my nose".

I changed my flight and flew home that morning, I wasn't having any part of it. So I know what you mean by "selfish". My step daughter invented it.

 

It's bonkers when we have a situation where people who haven't had the vaccine probably have more chance of not having covid at Oakwell. People who have been jabbed and have a vaccine passport won't bother testing themselves as they can get in without. Someone who needs to test to get in who hasn't wanted to be jabbed will take the test and know for sure they don't have it or at least have a better idea they don't compared to someone jabbed who doesn't take a LFT.
