    It’s like when you suddenly become aware of your breathing and something you do every second of every day becomes weird and stressful. I read a bit more about the ‘twisties’ and it was really informative how some gymnasts have to go right back to basics to be able to do the routines again and sometimes they’re never able to do them. I’ll link it here if I find it again.

    Not to the same extent, but my daughter suddenly "forgot" where she was in the middle of a somersault - upside-down, six foot in the air and heading towards the floor head first! Luckily, she managed to tuck and landed on her shoulders rather than her head - which could have been serious.

    Many gymnasts have this problem in their career. Some in training, and get over it. Some in competition - and feign injury due to the stigma - and one was brave enough to say what the problem was under the glare of the entire world.

    And how many of those slagging her off suffer from the yips when they play their round of golf?

    GB the better team by far but after hitting the woodwork twice and missing a penalty the Aussies get a huge slice of luck with a deflected shot that was going yards wide. Some terrible defending let us down.

    Our slack defending makes me question that we were the better team. More than matched by Australia imo, we may have had more xhances but we were less clinical and a few were offside.

    Thought Australia were very defensive playing 6 at the back most of the game. I just thought they had all the luck especially with that deflected goal that sneaked into the top corner. It was going well wide. Their 4th hit the bar and went in, we hit the woodwork twice and the ball stayed out. We had most of the attacking play and shouldn't be missing penalties. They obviously matched us because they won but personally I thought they were lucky.
