I got into town early today and had a look round. It's alreyt, but that's all, in my opinion. Having said that, it's a long time since I'd been in the old market. I did seek out a Clamp's pie though after reading this thread, and I'm glad I did, lovely!
Really impressed with the new market. Hope it attracts visitors from outside the borough. Remember coach trips coming from all over. If you live in the borough get darn and make it a tarn shopping experience to be proud on. The moaners tend not to visit anyway.
It seems people from Durham, Oldham and somewhere I've forgotten came on Saturday. For what it's worth, I liked it, but I think it could have been a little big bigger in terms of stall size and gangways. I think quite a few stalls from the old market have packed in and would be nice if there were more stalls so they could come back (on shorter contracts). Would have been better had it been finished and when all the cafés are in place though. Overall positive feedback though
I like it, the stalls are quite simple which I think looks good. It's not overly fussy but does a good job and looks great from the outside. Miles better than the old one so it's a thumbs up from me.
Just had a quick look around . First impressions are good and I’ll reserve till it fully up and running . First thing I look fo is people kalin for me that sets the tone people stood talking . Been down that London and people seem to have no time for each other heads down get what they want and away . I know some parts of London will have community spirit just not seen it only on telly . Places like Barnsley and Rotherham is what I like where you can’t walk five paces without bumping into somebody you know to talk awhile . Absolutely brilliant imo and I think the new market will capture that spirit .
