Stevie Malan was one of the signings I was most excited by, his highlights and reputation was very good. In the friendlies I saw, and a couple of U23s it just looked like he was off the pace. I sincerely hope this training plan has worked and the very delayed introduction does him good rather than has slowed his development. I don’t understand why when Potts, Moncur and Gardner have been so off form he hasn’t yet had a sniff. He seriously can’t have done any worse than they have in the last 5 or 6.

We’ll have to trust Hecky, and the fact he now is in the first team squad means he is getting much closer. We really need someone who can dictate play, create chances, set off counter attacks and put a decent set piece in. No pressure like!

Still looking forward to seeing what he can do. Hopefully very soon.

And agree... a Matty James type player would be immense. Can’t see it though. Not even sure how long he’s out for. Was in their first team though.

Problem is when Isgrove is out we seriously miss that pace, guile and someone stretching the fullbacks. It's what we lost in the summer when Kent and Watkins left. Hammill, Barnes and Hedges have the quality to make things happen but they just don't possess the sheer speed of Kent & Isgrove and with Lloyd so injury prone a similar sort of player is a must in my opinion.
