I was at an ANZAC ceremony last Sunday onboard the USS Hornet. The vessel has an interesting history and is now a museum. Onboard was an Apollo Capsule, the helicopter which rescued it, and the isolation caravan to which the Astronauts were moved. I felt claustrophobic just looking at the three seats in the capsule.
I know a lot of pro footballers have been over the moon, they tell us regularly on post-match interviews
Well, it does sound a bit odd at first, doesn’t it? But what they likely mean is that the specific technology used during the Apollo missions no longer exists in a usable form. It was retired decades ago, and the infrastructure around it was dismantled. So, while we could go back, it’s not as simple as dusting off an old rocket – we’d have to rebuild everything from scratch or design something entirely new, which is exactly what Artemis is about. Not a case of “we forgot how,” more that we moved on and now need to reinvent the wheel a bit.
I've read some of the web sites which claim it was faked and they don't stack up. There are scientific explanations to all the "proof" that was faked. Besides which, a decent sized telescope aimed at the right bit of the moon will clearly show you the stuff that was left behind.
Yes, there were an estimated 400,000 people involved, that’s an awful lot of people to keep quiet if it was fake.
What makes me laugh is people using fake news, photos and videos, and setting up fake websites, to "prove" that something else was faked. I have a mate who claims we never went to the moon, he also genuinely believes the earth is flat, and all our private conversations are being recorded and sent to Donald Trump. That when he's sober. When he's had a few beers he's best avoided. A complete loon.
