    That's bang on the mark and the reason why Watford opted to go long for their wingmen in the second half, they have some big, fast, physical attackers but couldn't get them into the game playing it out from the back.

    Its worth remembering that Watford didn't have a single shot on goal which is some achievement, given we've move Mowatt out of his trench in front of the back 3 and allowed him to get into the oppositions 1/3. Fans and the footballing world in general is obsessed with attacking - hence strikers are generally more expensive then defenders, but in fact over a season you get more points per game by not conceding goals then you do by scoring them - because obviously scoring a goal when you are losing by more than one goal doesn't help, but not conceding always gets you points, not conceding gains on average over 2 points per game, and even conceding one goal still gets you on average 1.5 points per game. Scoring a goal gives you on average 1 point per game.
