In his comments yesterday, Dane Murphy made it clear that not only does Struber pick the team, but it is also written into his contract that he does so. In the light of those comments, In think that you are wrong that the players mentioned have been frozen out because of a board strategy, as that would fundamentally contravene Struber's independence.

It has to be said that I did not think that we could survive in the Championship this season, and I have held that view since August. My view was that our players were far too young, and far too inexperienced. However, unlike many on here, I do not treat single seasons in isolation. I look upon my club and its football team as an ongoing project. Some seasons will be better than others. There will be ups and there will be downs. All the players who have given us pleasure will eventually move on for one reason or another. All that I am interested in is the ongoing improvement of the club. So can the investment in players this season be regarded as an ongoing improvement. Well, in the short term, certainly not. If I were to value the playing staff now, it would be less than its value at the end of last season. But what of its potential. Unfortunately, when we talk about the future, things are very much a matter of opinion, but my opinion is that many of the players recruited last summer will come good. They have been put under too much pressure this season, and some of them have cracked under that pressure. However, I believe that they will come to no long term harm, and it will not stop them improving and eventually becoming valuable assets. They are under long term contracts, and there is plenty of time.

Will those players eventually be sold? Of course they will. The club has always sold players. The club loses money every year before player trading, as can be seen from our accounts over the years. There is no alternative, if the club wants to remain solvent. Does that mean that it can never achieve stability in the Championship? Of course not, but it does to a certain extent rely upon reality biting among owners of other Championship clubs. This outrageous overspending on player wages and transfer fees must be brought under control. It is this that makes the Championship such a difficult place for promoted clubs to survive in, and not the policies adopted by our owners. If you do not believe me, just look at the table. You will find the three promoted clubs from last year occupying three of the bottom five places.

The trouble with getting old is that my memory gets worse every year.

I asked a question above about note 25 - Related Party Disclosures. Under that note there are two sums mentioned, one for £65,000 and one for £20,000. My guess, prompted by your inquiry, is that the sum of £65,00 relates to ground rent.

I think this covers the lease of the ground amongst other things:
