It did. I remember the train going through Woodhead tunnel and us kids thinking it must be the longest tunnel in the world. Brig trip (Barrow WMC) had 4 trains with about 12 carriages on each train. It alternated between Scarborough, Bridlington, Cleethorpes, Skeggy and Blackpool when I was a nipper. Blackpool was ruled out when the line closed and the club started using buses.

I went on the trains from Barrow club and never went to blackpool...Mick is younger than me so he can't have gone either...they started using buses because the trains became too expensive

He's younger than me so you're probably right. The trains definitely went to Blackpool though so you must be either younger than me or started going.on the club trip when you were a bit older. My dad was on the committee and used to hand out 10bob in a brown paper envelope along with the Barrow Club tag in case you got lost. Don't know when the.buses started but I was too old by then. As an aside, I think Micks dad was a member of Ward Green Club, no idea where they went.

I’m not sure he made his debut in the reserves with his brother
I believe Kevin is a couple of years younger than Mick
I’m sure Kevin was still playing in the under 18s when Mick was in the first team and although a decent player he was never going to emulate his brother
