What's your view on Big Issue, May?
You and James should 'hook up' so to speak.

I don't think people judge quickly enough on this site.

RE: Acky!!! I've lost people close to me to cancer,..............

and i lost a partner in the past to drugs so this is a sensitive issue to me just like the cancer is to you, so we should all respect each others circumstances.

Can I just point something out?

She died of misadventure. Not cocaine addiction, not a related illness, not a drug addled death pact. Misadventure. Thousands of people do it every year while pissed.

By the looks of it he killed himself out of grief.

RE: Acky!!! I've lost people close to me to cancer,..............

I've lost numerous members of my family to cancer. Only last month a good friend died from lung, kidney and throat cancer.

My point was that tobacco, like any other drug is highly addictive, yet the way people react to what is classed legal and illegal, is entirely different. The bloke concerned took risks, as any smoker does, but it's not, in my view your or my place to moralise as to whether "he deserved it" or not.

If you'd have known the guy and he was your mate, would he still have deserved it? Or would you be a little more COMPASSIONATE towards him?

think the fundamental point here is that this is a front page story, and this reveals a great deal about the state of our society! i personally work with substance misusers but feel sorry for none of them, but always provide 100% support. addicts are highly manipulative, compulsive lyers and blame everyone else for thier problem: all addicts in recovery will tell you this. addiction is complex and an illness, and reaches all sections of society. sympathy must go to thier immediate family, but not to them.

    RE: This is the tragedy

Only because there were Brits on it. Wouldn't have been reported otherwise.

It's ok, if it makes you feel less wrong, you pick on me and ignore other people saying the same.

I'm not picking on anyone. As I said, depending on the circumstances, I don't necessarily agree with offering being a"human being"as a viableexcuse for feeling sympathy.

    I don't think it's so much right v left

as a complete and utter lack of perspective and an inability to think.

    This BBS is great

cant argue about tickets or glory fans or relegation...

so lets argue over a young couple who had their lives cut tragically short...

A lot of pepole in here would cause an argument in an empty house....!!!!
