Re: So Cardiff are complaining Saw similar incidents to that at Middlesbrough and man city tbf and being told off by their own fans bit unfair to cast all fans the same there good and bad in all even in Barnsley believe it or not
Well I've never seen youngsters and lasses targeted like I have with Cardiff. Seen all sorts at Maine Rd, Roker Park, Grimsby etc but nothing like Cardiff Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not sticking up for anybody but have come across some really friendly Cardiff fans and some real horrible cnuts too probably attracted to games just for the aggro .maybe for whatever reason they may have more than their share of idiots but an idiot is an idiot choose what club he allies himself to.
Absolutely - and I've walked away supporters back into town before cos some little (barnsley) ****s were wanting to start - if they thought all Tarn supporters were cnuts I'd understand. Just got no time for Cardiff as a club or their supporters in the main. Wish em nothing but heavy defeats Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The thing that sets the Cardiff thing apart for me was that it was THE day their fans should have been able to forget the existence of any other fans, because of their joy at getting to the final. There was just no need for what I witnessed. They should have been getting on with their celebrations. I will never forget the fans (grown men in their 40s) running up to my 8 year old daughter an goading her (and me), as we walked down a side street. They went out of their way to confront us. Two females just trying to quietly get back to our car. They were hideously offensive throughout the game. I've never seen behaviour as bad in 30+ years of watching football. (And I've seen plenty of BFC dickheads in that time). I definitely have an agenda Vs Cardiff. It's not against all their fans, (I like the contributions Bluebird makes to this board) but I will NEVER visit their ground, and I will never put any of my cash into their club.
Mackay's well & truly over stepped the mark here. I think when you're joking & taking the piss out of each other or workmates in a jokey manner like the Keys & Gray thing it's not too bad but this is randomly abusing colleagues, potential colleagues & people they've not got a relationship with. As far as I'm concerned his management career should be over.
Wouldn't disagree but as far as I'm aware these were private texts - so given how Scudamore's texts were swept under the carpet - the PL have surely set a precedent of 'move along nothing to see here' Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Plus they are probably typical of what goes on in the football fraternity.... he is without sin and all that.......
Well if the head of the PL can denigrate women with impunity they cannot sanction anyone else for other forms of bigotry ?
So it appeaes vincent tan was digging for dirt and found some, and then ran to the fa with all tbe gossip. Im not condoning mackays behaviour in any way but there is something very strange inall this that maybe will come out in the next few days
They were on a Cardiff company phone , that's how they came to light , not his private phone therefore not private texts.
Ye but apparently they've been allowed to look at private texts because of the whole releasing team news saga so anything goes
I understand the point you're making, but the FA and PL are two different bodies, only one of them is the sanctioning body of the game. Scudamore kept his job because he makes significant money for a commercial entity (which personally I thought was an abhorrent but you only need to look at the make up of the panel who cleared him to continue). But the FA are the people who administer and run the game and supposedly uphold the values associated. Plus forget the FA, if the allegations turn out to be true no club should be employing them anyway, regardless of the FAs stance. And there not just calling someone a tw@t who they don't like, they are making sweeping racist remarks about people they've never met, profiling people and basically being horrible people. It's a stark reminder of how far we still have to go, and needs bringing up whenever people start being flippant about racism.
Puts into sharp focus the true nature of the PL. Personally think neither Scudamore nor Mackay should work in football again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I guess MM shot himself in the foot when he tried suing Cardiff. At that point the lawers had a right for disclosure of evidence hence this being public. I think our press timed the news to coincide with his return to management for max exposure but maybe we're too trigger happy as he hadn't been given the job formally at the time at CP although it's clear 2 days on he would have been. In large we'll managed companies the 4 eyes principle ensures no contractual wrong doing. As far as Cardiff is concerned the club senior management should take accountability more so than MM as they employed him and gave him the controls to do this without checks and balances. No good blaming one man. On the other text issues, seems like they found out and dealt with it. can't help thinking that they were building a case to fire him and discovered evidence to do so rather than this evidence being the root cause,, maybe...
Dunno. Everyone thought it was madness when Mackay was sacked. Vincent Tan was portrayed as a loony, even wanting to pick the team himself. However, it's come to light that Tan had serious concerns about transfer dealings claiming that far too much money has been paid. Is there owt in that? Well, the high court issued a search order so investigators could enter Moody's house. Moody was also ordered to allow investigators access to his office. £3 million is being held that is owed to agents. Papers were found that were not submitted to the club at the time of the transfers showing huge payments to agents. Doesn't prove owt, we have to wait until the findings from the investigation, but it's sounding like a lot more than a nutter who fell out with his manager because his team weren't at the top of the table, which is what the media had us believe last year. During investigations in to these transfer dealings the content of the texts and documents was found. Some of the 'orrible stuff in there relates specifically to Tan's countrymen and his culture. I can imagine he was pretty pissed off about that. Cardiff are claiming they have handed these papers over to the FA as their lawyers have informed them they have a legal obligation to do so. Maybe that's true or maybe Tan did it for revenge. Only Tan will know why, but I wouldn't blame him whatever his motivation for doing so. He backs a guy with £millions of his own brass, he begins to suspect that a substantial amount of that money is being frittered away in dodgy dealings, and in trying to get to the bottom of that he finds out that his manager and head of recruitment, both of whom he paid handsomely, are abusing and taking the piss out of his own country, and just about everyone else they feel are below the rank of white heterosexual males. All this on a work phone that Tan supplied. Meanwhile Tan is being ripped to pieces in the national media. I think I'd be gunning for the bloke too.
Re: So Cardiff are complaining Just a minute Bluebird mate. You're a grown man. That doesn't in any way make what you have gone through acceptable. However, when Barnsley met Cardiff at Wembley there were literally hundreds of reports of women and children being verbally abused, spat at and even physically abused by groups of Cardiff men. Not one group of thugs, lots. Barnsley went to Wembley as a family club, we travelled with partners and kids all hoping for a win but also a great day out. FA cup finals and trips to Wembley don't come along very often for a club like ours and we went to London to enjoy ourselves. We were met by thousands of Cardiff men looking for a fight. I'm not suggesting we don't have any idiots amongst our own supporters, but they're such a tiny minority that amongst a crowd the size that we took to Wembley, they're invisible. Cardiff's undesirables were around every corner and they helped to turn what should have been a great day in our history in to one that many Barnsley supporters want to forget. We've been to Wembley twice in our entire history. Unfortunately, we lost both games. However, the play-off game with Ipswich, even though we lost our chance to be promoted to the Premier League, is still spoken about with fondness by Barnsley fans. The atmosphere was incredible. The view down Wembley way, one side blue, the other red was something thousands of us will never forget. But we mingled too and although there was plenty of banter, it was friendly and jocular and there was a party atmosphere. Ipswich fans are, maybe begrudgingly because they beat us, held in high regard by many Barnsley supporters. Ipswich have a similar view about us. We're northern monkeys, but we're quite nice northern monkeys. No one speaks about the Cardiff game with any sort of fond memories at all. There have never been any posts on here about the great atmosphere before the game. Other than reliving the Odejayi miss, no one speaks about the game at all. Many friends and family haven't been to a game since and wouldn't dream of doing so. We went to an FA Cup semi-final and thousands of your fans spoiled it for us. There's no agenda here. There was no agenda in Extremely Northern's post. We've all witnessed trouble over the years. We've all found ourselves in pretty shitty situations when confronted with gangs of thugs. But very few of us have previously seen that sort of behaviour directed towards families, kids, wives and partners, nephews and nieces. It left a bad taste and as a representative of Cardiff on this forum, who on the whole has been welcomed by the majority of this forum, you're occasionally going to have our experience of Wembley thrown back at you and I think you should recognise there was a big problem that day.
Re: So Cardiff are complaining Have to agree with Jay and Extremely Northern. It was a horrible day and atmosphere. I was with my parents, sister and wife and I literally had to shield them on the underground platform from idiots screaming in our faces and shoving us. All the way up Wembley Way kids were being abused. Don't get me wrong, the day was also ruined by a drunk Barnsley fan who thought it was acceptable to racially abuse our players throughout the game, but he was a tiny minority within our support. I feel genuinely sorry for Cardiff fans such as yourself, but in my experience you have a greater number of idiots than most who behave in a worse way than most. And the only way you'll deal with that is by confronting the problem as a club and fanbase. Not trying to pick an argument and sorry if it feels like a feeding frenzy. I really enjoy your posts and value your contribution to this forum, it's just that was many Barnsley fans' worst experience at a football match.
Yep my overriding memory of the Cardiff fans is them throwing coins down at Barnsley fans whilst coming to the stairs at the bottom of Wembley way, whilst being called all sorts of names by so called Cardiff fans. Horrible atmosphere, horrible day. Bluebird generally you are great to have, but don't defend the indefensible.
