First thing Phillips does when he’s going to receive the ball is turn backwards . Did it against Belgium too . Must be a Leeds thing ,

If Kalvin Phillips is a footballer, my ****'s a kipper. He's toilet, looks for every opportunity to play it back into our own half.

I watch England and every time he's played he's looked worth less than £2m, never mind £90m+.

Unlike Walker, who's getting stick on here. Walker is sometimes reckless or sleepy but he's got enough for Pep to buy him and pick him. Often over the years he has looked our best player at the back.

He didn't time his tackle right. He needed to be Greece lightning with it :D

Just glad Southgate chops and changes the side before major tournaments. See who the weak links are and who plays for the shirt.

The downside of making a mistake as a football player when people blame you for their own stupidity.

Special mention for Jordan Pickford, an absolute walking disaster, he needs some Ritalin.

I don't know why people think he will care. He's had a tough few months and it's clearly weighing on his mind whilst he tries to clear his name. His form for club as well as country hasn't been great.

Never a pen if anything Walker fouled 1st. Maguire won ball for 2nd yellow, never a yellow the football world has gone soft, its not even a foul let alone a card. Some **** players play for us now Rice, Mount top of list, Phillips is young and should get better

Some way over the top England bashing as usual on here.

I’ve never been Maguire’s biggest fan but he’s a decent top half premier league player. He’s certainly not ****. As for the comment about him been a 70’s or 80’s centre back hoofing it that’s ridiculous. Southgate brought him in because he plays out from the back.

Rice has had an excellent start to the season. West Ham have been in great form & he’s been as good as anyone. You can’t argue in one breath that players in form like Grealish should be playing & then criticise Southgate for playing Rice.

Biggest problem with him & Phillips together is they’re both used to been on their own as the sitting midfielder. Don’t see a reason to play both of them together, it’s too negative especially with 3 centre backs. I’d be going with a back 4 & Rice as the sitter with Henderson & Barkley advanced as it stands.

Some of the comments on here about Walker are laughable. He’s clearly been England’s best defender over the last decade & is excellent for City on a regular basis.

It makes me wonder if people actually watch the football or just decide they’re going to criticise Walker & Maguire because they were at Sheff Utd?

Whilst they're probably joking (doing it for the likes/bants as the kids say), it's morons like that, that put me off twitter.

That being said, I used to work in a bookies. There was a guy who used to come in fairly regularly who quite clearly had a gambling problem (would accuse jockeys in virtual horse races of cheating). He once popped in on his way to pick up his Chinese. 10 minutes later, he had to go back home to get more money as he'd spent his takeaway money.

but that 's the problem, a top half PL player. But he went to Man U for £80M! Then he's picked for England. Surely better players can play for England
