Just read the thread about Adam Hammill’s birthday and then came to this one. Luke, lad, get on YouTube and watch what a proper winger looks like. Check out his skill, work rate, commitment, crossing and goal scoring. Then give your head a good shake.
I remember people saying Mowatt wasnt good enough when we sent him on loan to Oxford. In fact Oxford fans also didn't rate him. It proved to be the kick up the backside he needed and he came back raring to perform. Hopefully, Thomas might be the same.
To be fair, a lot of us didn’t need to turn on him, he has had basically zero impact at BFC and wouldn’t be upset if I didn’t see him in a red shirt again. I don’t wish any ill will towards him, he is just a long way short of being good enough for this league.
Didn’t see anything wrong with that interview: the Coach should have known better though - he’s not a young pro. Thomas didn’t do enough for me and I thought he had plenty of chances so I wouldn’t be overly concerned if he made that loan move permanent. If he does, he’s dropped right on his feet though. Not many things are guaranteed in football but Ipswich coming past us in the next few years is one of them.
This. If you want to prove your point, and demonstrate that you're not unprofessional, don't have a paddy and force a loan. Do your job, work harder/better and show the manager that they were wrong. I quite like that Val is a hard taskmaster. It certainly seems to be working as we ship out players who aren't willing to graft.
Was it Luke Thomas that made "the truth will come out" tweet when Stendel was sacked or Struber left?
The winning goal against Fulham and drawing a couple of penners that led to wins is a bit more than zero impact. I don't think he will be missed though.
Mowatt had already played over 100 games in the Championship and won Leeds’ player of the year award. He only played about a dozen games for us before he went to Oxford. He didn’t really get much of a chance. Thomas on the other hand.. I’ve seen a few half-decent performances from him in 18 months. I’m not writing him off, but it’s a bit different to Mowatt’s previous situation.
He had big boots to fill, ‘replacing’ Conor. It didn’t help him getting sent off on his debut, and coming into a side that had just sold Hourihane, Winnall, etc.
