Met him a couple of times & from media appearances & interviews I think he comes across well, either that or he’s one hell of an actor.

I’m not commenting on his style of play at Bristol as I don’t see them enough.

It was the style of play at Barnsley I couldn’t stand apart from the last month.

It was incredibly slow build up with little width, no overlapping & basically just pretty dull. With the types of players we had I couldn’t understand why we were so negative for so long. It was as if he dropped all his footballing principles when Hammill joined as the style completely changed. It’s worked for him as he’s certainly doing better these days & looks to have improved which I guess is what you’d expect a young manager to do.

I think there’s that little difference in quality the championship that you could end up finishing 6th & only have a few more points than a team finishing 14th or 15th, alternatively a few defeats like tonight & they’re back bottom half. I’d probably say mid-table about 12th-13th is where I’d expect to see Bristol finish.

Yes they’ve lost two key players in the summer but they also spend plenty including a £5m striker not so long ago. Losing 2 players is hardly much upheaval, in 2017 in the championship we lost about 7 or 8 first teamers in 4 months for example so one thing they have going for them at Bristol is a settled squad & a chairman that backs his manager.

Doing a decent job but as always it’s best to judge at the end of the season, if my memory serves me right they were pushing for play offs at this time of the season last time round & ended up fading away by May

Well at least that's a thoughtful post, and worthy enough to end this thread.

If I get banned, I get banned.

Anyone who defends the bloke - after we lost to fvcking Altrincham - is a Useless Fvcking Lee fellator, a Johnno ******, a dwarfophile and an apologist for the Individual Brilliance Zone. Should that mode of expression result in a ban, such is life.

I won't complain about it, I won't pretend-flounce that I'm done with this place only to return again, and I won't reconsider my use of language. Nor do I offer any apologies to those rimming the man who brought us eight consecutive League One defeats.

Jesus, just on the strength of such a ridiculous post I'll defend him. He's three years into post in a profession that is one of the most precarious as a career so he must be half decent.
Can you squeeze all those insults onto a badge please and I'll wear it next to my rosette.

I'm not saying 'he's a legend', nor am I the one making incorrect but easily verifiable claims....

Here's the report from the Oldham away game. Reckons we had lost 8 on the bounce and avoided setting a new record by beating Oldham.

Also, the previous season he won only 1 from his final 10 games. Rochdale on the last day.

It does seem to be his weakness that he can't halt a slide so maybe motivationally he's lacking.

Several times now he's followed good run with bad. It's happened all his career. Makes you wonder if he just let the players organise themselves, they would do any better or worse.

He seems more of a rider than a driver.

It's a weird one. In 17/18 Bristol City went from the start of the season (all games):

    P29 | W18 | D8 | L3

To the end of the season they went:

    P25 | W4 | D8 | L13

No idea if they had injuries etc. but certainly a little bit of a change!

His record is bizarre, it's littered with amazing and dreadful runs. A week ago they were the only team in the country to have won all its' league games, now they've lost 2 in a row and it wouldn't surprise me if they go on a 10 game winless run now. He's done it at Oldham, Barnsley and no Bristol City so it must be something to do with his tactical/motivational make up.

Several times during his tenure at Bristol, and at Oakwell, fans have shouted for his head, but he just keeps going when others would have been despatched.

    He's one lucky bloke.

Maybe I don't care what you think?

Within reason, I'll post what I like. If it's not to your taste you can either ignore me or report it.
