The moment, is just that, a moment! They will probably go into administration, someone with deep pockets will end up buying them for minimal outlay, they will have a year of restructure and then become their normal annoying self obsessed selves again. For us it’s been 3 seasons since Lee & Conway were booted from the board, minimal investment if any? No real restructuring, we’ve played out to be a non-discript, third tier club (reportedly losing several million a year). I can’t see how the club is reportedly losing so much money when there’s nothing to show for it, we’ve sold players off for sizeable transfer fees and understand there’s shortfalls in selling players on the Drip as opposed to upfront cash, that needs a “finance bridge” hence board members / owners putting in loans, or supposed increase in equity, the account might show equity but I’m fairly certain the bank accounts don’t, plus we now have a chairman in India going on record stating that the board/owners are not willing to fund any further losses.. our future doesn’t look too clever at this moment does it?
Were they complaining when they were signing Jordan Rhodes Gary Hooper Fernando Foresteiri and Adam Reach for over £20 million combined in a short space of time? Or when their owner sold the ground to himself for silly money (£60million?) to overcome breaching profit and sustainability rules and a potential points deduction? Reap what you sow.
You are joking right? Have you looked at their accounts ? They owe £160m to chansiri We owe nothing Chansiri owns Hillsborough We have a 30 year lease in place They can't spend money on transfers or loans We have a budget for this season Their manager is about to walk We have an young smart head coach They still have players deciding on contracts such as bannan who will go. Our retained list is sorted. They don't even know if they'll start the season and might not exist We are awaing fixtures I think people need to understand our accounts, we have an Owner that funds the losses in the form of equity we aren't saddled with debt. Whilst we need to get back on an even keel which will mean trimming the wage down and fans being realistic towards recruitment in the meantime we are nowhere near in the level s**t Wednesday are. We've always been a selling club and the reason we've made some losses is because the owners thought they were doing the right thing by not selling players like Cole, cadden, kane and Williams. Nobody is try to gloss over they've made some bad decisions and recruited poorly on the whole but I don't think you can question the financial support to maintain one of the biggest wage bills in the league.
I don’t knock their funding, it’s the decision making that’s been terrible. If we’d had a proper DoF that knew what they were doing and a clear plan we wouldn’t have ended up saddled with a large wage bill to cover a bloated, unbalanced squad like we have now. Sormaz still making decisions after the last 18 months he’s presided over is just bonkers.
I get the impression that if we sign good players it will be down to Conor and if we sign a couple of duffs itll be Maladens fault. The transfer recruitment doesn't work like that in fact i would suggest Sormaz and the board are the last pieces of the jigsaw in making signings.January was a poor window we all know that but its quite likely we have a good window this summer. If we do who will you praise.? or will it be down to luck.
Wednesday have debt but primarily to Chansiri and it is just over £61m. The debt is a soft debt as the owner will never enforce as it would destroy any equity value and there is minimal recoverable. They also have a long term let on their ground agreed but the fee is around 25x that of BFC’s. Chansiri is looking for an exit but no one in their right mind will come close to the amount he is wanting.
I don't comment much on BBS but I usually read lot of posts. But lots of comments on here from start of last season had an agenda against Russell why the sudden change of everyone thinking he's a sellable asset. I've always rated him and took months/seasons for people to look at him same way.
Disagree with that. I'd like to think you're right but I suspect Sormaz has Neeravs ear from what has come out of the club re: xg and stats comments. The coach will yet again be the fall guy if there's a load of crap purchased. It'll be Hourihanes fault even if it isn't.
