Yep, we've become very hard to beat since the no show at Wycombe. I just read a post on the Marras forum saying how we were outplayed yesterday and at Donny, but they're just looking for anything now. At Donny we took what they had to offer in the first half, and then had them on the back foot for the majority of the second. Similarly yesterday, Walsall admittedly had the better chances, but we never broke stride, and finished the stronger. Sunderland must be brilliant and win every game comfortably from reading some of their comments.
Caused a lot of our own problems by giving the ball away. Passing was not up to the usual standard, maybe because they weren't giving us much time to make the pass.
They weren’t giving us time, you’re right. I thought they were set up really well and stopped us from playing but that extra bit of quality shone through, both in front of goal and defensively. Big performance needed next week. If we take 10 points from the next 12 I think we are pretty much there.
Exactly the same from me, having seen it back don't think we played that bad, considering the state of the pitch, which I thought was appalling with constant bobbles almost all over the pitch. Also don't consider us to be lucky either just thought our defenders and goalkeeper did what they had to when required, and Walsall, as with most teams in this division, didn't have the quality to take their chances, hence not hitting the target with the best chance early in the first half.
I don't read their forum but a they have been going on about if Walsall took their chances we would have lost. If we had took our chances against Sunderland we would have been 2 or 3 up before half time.
Even that pillock HendrIe said we could have been 3 down, but like Moore said, Thiam scores and it's a different game.
You have to take your chances when you are on top. We didn't against Sunderland and we had to settle for a point. Walsall didn't against us and it cost them in the end.
