We were deliberately allowed to have that kind of possession. Reading were confident from the off that they could beat the press and very often they did and just played through it, zapping energy levels further. They also played like a team short on confidence who knew three points secured their season.

We hugged and puffed but ultimately just weren’t very good. I’ve seen the mention of good chances but I can only recall 1 or 2 half chances really rather than a handful of clear goal scoring opportunities. Decision making in the final third just wasn’t there yesterday.

* Edit - I’ve seen he did go. Which makes the whole claim about stats a truly bizarre one. All about opinions though
