    Right back at you.

There are a number of people on this bulletin board that will make every argument possible no matter how empty it is in order to promote lifting lockdown.

Absolutely there are. Deaths from Covid are in single figures. Millions of people are waiting for essential medical attention. People are dying in their thousands from being undiagnosed. You're damn right we want to stop this totalitarian destructive murderous intervention.

With respect, what’s changed.? If I remember rightly. You wouldn’t venture out of the house for the first 6 months. Now you appear to want it to end irrespective of the consequences. I may be mixing you up with someone else. And it’d be a mare to track back.

    For others
I get it affects people mentally. But also getting that foreign holiday eg .( emphasis on foreign) appears to be the fix. It’s a break . Does it have to be to foreign climes.
Those not prepared to get vaccinated. Are you happy that you may be A symptomatic. And pass the virus on. To those naturalised. I get having the tests beforehand. are they 100% accurate. I Genuinely don’t know. I certainly fancy a break abroad. but am willing to go British. If I can’t guarantee not being responsible for a spike in other countries.
This ludicrous 4am this morning cut off point for travellers coming back from Portugal bemuses me. Why not make it 2am. o_O (sarcasm)
I went to Spain last year having booked 8 months previous. ( it was go or lose everything as flights were going and accommodations open.) We were allowed to travel with no quarantine restrictions in place. Lo and behold 16 hrs before our flight . Notice came out if we weren’t back in England by midnight. Notified at 6pm same day via the news. We’d have to quarantine for 2 weeks. Consequently 2 weeks without pay or use up 2 more of my holiday entitlement. Fortunately. being part time. I made up the lost hrs after I returned to work. Others not so fortunate.

Yep. We’re getting utterly desperate to try to avert the death and destruction wreaked by lockdowns which so many people bizarrely just steadfastly refuse to acknowledge.

I think you need to name them or retract, Jay.

Cases are three times higher than when those who are sadly dying at the moment were infected.

Off you go then, name your half dozen.

Then they can either agree or disagree with you.

Hospital admissions keep going down. Target areas in need with help & get the economy back working, with the exception of travel, until 2 vaccines have been given to 75% of people. It's at this point we need to believe in our vaccine roll out, or live in a perpetual state of government control for ever.

No I don't. It's not a name and shame exercise. But it is a very valid observation. You can choose to disagree and that's fine, but that doesn't invalidate my opinion.

With the greatest of respect to you it now looks like an opinion that can't be made to stand up.

What about those that are sadly dying from diseases that are not Covid? Do they count? Diseases we could have prevented had we looked at the whole picture rather than being so blinkered. We could have saved thousands of healthy lives and we chose not to. People keep promoting that policy and its got to stop.

As I say you're allowed that opinion.

Indeed I am. And it will remain my opinion until you are able to add any substance to your comment.

Hospital admissions aren't going down, they are actually flat at the moment, around 120 per day. They are expected to rise though, as cases are now three times higher than when these patients caught it.

I have a lot of friends in the NHS & they are not dealing with Covid cases. They are dealing with all the treatments put on hold for a year & a massive shortage of nurses. None that I've spoken to are in favour of delaying 21st June relaxation, other than regarding travel for obvious reasons.

Just to be clear, you want me to name BBS contributors who I believe want lockdowns to continue, making them feel at best uncomfortable and at worst angry, giving examples of why I believe that? That's what you want? To what end? What would that achieve?

I've said what I believe without the need to be personal. Why do you believe being personal would validate my opinion?

I didn't go out much right at the beginning because I was following the rules but I've always been against the restrictions so I think you may be confusing me with someone else.

Which is exactly why they don't need COVID admissions rising, just because we couldn't wait a bit longer to get more people double jabbed and allow time for it to kick in.

Mate, you're tying yourself up in knots over this. There are half a dozen on this website that don't want lockdown to end? Seriously? Why would they? And if that is peoples' opinion, why is it personal? It would be an opinion they have stated - if you were correct. They would be entitled to hold it, and they shouldn't regard it as personal if they do. It is their opinion to defend. But what I am challenging you on is that I don't think there is anyone on this Board who doesn't want lockdown to end. People might have different views on when it should end. But that's a different matter.

In the events industry, it's maybe 60,000 unemployed. I trust your job isn't on the line?
