McAtee was good for us wasn’t he? That’d be a great signing. Would prefer a permanent signing though.

I'd be happy with this. Working under Conor I can see John really flourishing. He's got skill, he's got the legs for the press, he certainly had the desire to "put it in" the last time he was here, and he has the ability to produce that bit of something special.

He's a good player, I really dont see why people would be against it.

Where do we get 500k from was my first thought unless someone is going for big money

I’d be happy to get McAtee back but can’t see it happening. Main reason being that we don’t have the cash. He’d only be coming back if we were selling one of our big players to fund it. Only one we could afford to lose would be Russell. Certainly not DKD or Phillips.

Where would he actually play? He's a number ten type of player? Possibly to similar to DKD and David McGoldrick

I also think he did a good job for us, and would have liked him to stay.
Are we looking for that sort of player though.

We'd only need the 500k next summer if we decided to buy

Can’t see why Bolton would loan to a potential promotion rival.

Gives us the option of playing DKD or McGoldrick through the middle could see Mcatee playing from the left.
We only play with 1 striker, not saying I wouldn't mind us bringing one in but with DKD and McGoldrick for 1 spot it suddenly doesn't become essential

Dunno mate, just going off the OP, loan with an option to buy wouldn't then mean we are selling someone

It's all a twitter rumour based on some lad saying "he needs moving on; back to Barnsley would be a good move for him"

I'm far from ITK but I see at as a load of noise leading to last day giddiness.

It's a target man type old school centre forward we need, not another short fella.

Absolutely no idea about the veracity of the rumour, and I don't ask anyone at the club as I like the suspense.

But I'd be delighted if we re-signed McAtee. We currently have zero options up top, with Fabio injured. Not sure we can be too picky, and we're talking about a lad who scored a fair few with us last time, a player who works his knackers off, and would suit the system.

One of the most puzzling things of the last couple of seasons has been Barnsley fans booing him when he's played against us.
Gave his all for us, left on good terms, hasn't bad mouthed us and he didn't even rub it in our faces when he got that late equaliser the other week when he would have been perfectly in his rights.
It's probably a load of rubbish but would be a definite yes from me

Seems to be a weekly thing, booing anyone who left. I half expected someone to boo me as I made my way to my seat at Oakwell.

I see Fabio Jalo as a winger not a striker

IF this one is true (which I doubt very much) then it would be a fantastic signing. An attacker with double figures in terms of goals at this level for the last 2 seasons. Why wouldn't you want someone like that? I honestly don't see Bolton letting him go though.
