"and to compound that decisions, we then refused to buy or loan in any form of Championship experience"

What, players like Gary Gardner and Matt Mills on loads a dosh? A fine use of money getting "experience in" that was.

Gary gardner has player in the championship for the past 2 seasons since been with us so that would suggest he is of championship standard. Did we actually loan matt mills or did forest release him so he could join us, cant remember?

Actually, I think you're right, we might have signed Matt Mills. As for Gardener - he contributed nothing to the side even with all his "experience"; we'd have been better off using the place he took to develop one of our own players.

This is the general financial plan - that we need to consolidate in the Champ, to then start to build upwards. Can’t afford to throw a load of money at it straight away, in case it doesn’t work. Look at Luton I suppose - they’ve spent some money on decent wages etc. But no guarantee still.

I get the loan situation at Oakwell and agree with it - although I think this will be adjusted upon our needs for January. i.e like we did McBurnie and Pinnilos. That makes sense to me.

I agree with gardner I wasnt his biggest fan but I enjoyed watching barnes and mcburnie that season both loans. I think we would have been better giving mowatt who had played over 120 championship games for leeds a run of games in the middle instead of gardner but hindsight is a great thing and i realise he hardly did out at oxford on loan.

I thought Gardner was getting there but it was too little to late, took an age for him to get going.
