No, we were never a laughing stock, relegated before, yes, but never like this. And leaving the Premier League relegation aside, these owners now account for 50% of our relegations in the last 50 seasons.
Most people maybe. But there are far more that disrespect those that renew. Let's not hide behind rose tinted spectacles.
As I said it’s not something I’ve seen but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. At the same time I’ve been berated for not doing so. There are always idiots.
And yet Devaney was proud of them, jeez I know our standards were low but I didn't quite realise how low!
I'd like to know from the likes of Gally, Loko and Whitey what the 'brighter future' (sic) context of their recent posts alludes to? And that is not a dig at 3 guys I know and respect, I genuinely need a straw to clutch at to re-ignite my interest. I am so close to an ST for non league football next season, so please, please, thrown me a line. Anything .....
To be fair, there may be a strategy to drive profit by the owners. It’s quite radical though… p***ing off your fan base and minority ownership so much that they pay a premium just to be rid. Given all that’s transpired I’m left with the conclusion they are just carpet bagging chancers using other peoples money, that generally abdicate most running of things to very inexperienced people and hope to hit lucky at some point.
This is what bugs me a bit. Loko reckons he knows nothing, fair enough. Whitey is influenced heavily by knowing the people personally so it's much easier to see the good in them and be a bit blinded to the reality but Gally has seemed to be very deliberately hinting that something is changing but won't say what.
Oh things have been a lot worse. Watford away when we got beat 3-0 under Wilson. or winning 4 in 14 in LEAGUE ONE and getting beat 5-1 down in Crawley. That was a lot worse than this.
I've made it quite clear I'm not renewing. I've no issue with anyone that is. It is a personal choice. For me it's a "no". We all have our reasons. A fair debate is fine, but no point arguing over this. Most of the people renewing, (which seems a small percentage at the moment), are not necessarily saying they support PMG, they just support the club & want to sit in their usual seats next season, as some of them might have done for decades. To criticise them for that isn't right IMO. There does need to be a change of policy & / or a change of ownership, but few of us are in any position to change any of that at the moment directly. If we continue as we are I see us being at the bottom half of the table again next season, possibly in the bottom four. It really needs a root & branch review of our "plan". That is for sure.
There is no ‘brighter future’. Loko defends the board at all costs because he’s terrified of not being allowed to do a Q&A again. Its quite pathetic really. Ban incoming no doubt. I understand whitey doing it as he is employed by them.
Sorry, read my post above. @Loko the Tyke does great work for us as fans. To be able to create a dialogue between club & fans means he needs to be an arbitrator, not an antagonist. If one uses the analogy of the war in Ukraine, who on the US side is really pressing for peace, rather than just supplying more missiles? Things are only solved by dialogue in the long run.
Can I just say you are talking Rubbish. Lokothetyke was the one that pushed the CEO the most in October/November time out of all the people that were in that day. It's the speak for the fans channel that goes to the QandA's and sits and says nothing but can't wait to say why didn't he get asked x, y or Z after. You were there. Why didn't you ask him anything?
I promise you it was. I went to them. I sat travelling mile after mile. Week in week out both this and that season. It was worse that season. Getting hammered by Crawley was one of the most embarrassing times I've witnessed in football.
