A couple of Replays (opponents then neutral ground) Then pens. If necessary. Removing replays ad hoc. was nonsense. ( The premier league clubs saying players couldn’t cope with too much football . Then Creating European groups. Trotting off to distant parts in non-descript matches) When I look back at some of the games in where replays were involved. They were top notch. full on battles. Stoke. Liverpool. Sheffield utd.

Why? Because the team that won on penalties would park the bus and play for a 0-0 and every game would be awful maybe?

And because they didn't win, none of the team got it and one person blames himself for that, a player who would never usually take a penalty. First World problems of the already super rich I know, but we're all still humans with feelings.

No they’re great. One of my favourite things about major tournaments are penalty shootouts. Hope there’s lots of them this summer.

Well he shouldn't blame himself for missing a pen. The team had 120mins to get a winning score and failed miserably. My daughters danced , if they were in a duet, trio or group their teacher wouldn't have let them blame one person for a mistake it's a collective effort.

The penalty shoot out at the millennium stadium was one of the most traumatic experiences that I've ever had as a fan. I'd never felt tension like it, and also never felt elation like it either at the end.

    Except it wasnt.

The teams knew a penalty shoot out was at the end so thats where games mainly ended.

It was teams trying not to lose rather than trying to win.

Maybe to pimp the game up , penalty shoot out before the game so a team knows its forced to attack.

Or have a TV vote , if the public think the game rubbish they vote both teams out

I know he shouldn't, but what we should and shouldn't do isn't necessarily what we actually do. I missed a penalty once. In a 7 aside competition when I was in junior school. I wouldn't say it still bothers me but I still remember the feelings of how upset I was about it.
