It’s a very difficult situation. People need fresh air and exercise for their mental well being. People choose a green space to do that after looking at the same four walls all week. The problem is that no matter what you do you are in public likely to pass close to a person. Be it at work, the shops, out for a walk. As long as people are mindful of ‘social distancing’ and do their best to to minimise any close encounters there’s very little you can actually do. Other than a permanent lockdown. Which will lead to more deaths by suicide and spousal abuse than caused by the actual virus we are all panicking over.
Still not precise enough. Doesn't define how far "local" means and doesn't mention whether driving to get there is ok or not. People are very good at interpreting rules to suit their own preferences, so any loopholes need to be closed. By driving elsewhere to exercise, you run the risk of all manner of things - punctures, breakdowns, collisions (no shortage of boy racers speeding around last night when we were out for our walk), and then what? Not sure why the word "essential" causes so much confusion...
Lock it all down, 40% of those out and about are the old folk who should know better and are gonna die. Blunt.....yes, true.....probably. Every morning 80+ people queuing outside my shop, same faces every day. Numpties everyone of them. Day after day it repeats itself and it ain't slowing down. Something needs to happen. The phrase "essentials" is incomprehensible to most. One woman queued for 15minutes for a pack of bedding plants. Shut the food shops for 14 days, everyones bought enough.
Crikey 50? Your still a bairn yet . Plenty of time to celebrate after this but I know you won’t need telling that . Have a good un .
Right, as I am bored, I am going to be the pedantic one that points out that 2 yards is 6 foot which is the recommended space for social distancing. And while I am in full blown ‘nob ed mode’, the guidelines also state ‘or 2 metres’ which is actually closer to 7 foot than 6!! Sorry, as you were...
