You’re probably right and who knows - miracles could happen. We could do to them what they’re doing to us and we could then grind out a win.

    Or not....

This shouldn't be allowed for a day 5 pitch, let alone a day 2

    The pitch is a disgrace.

I really don’t mind seeing spinning wickets, even on Day 1. But there’s no excuse for a wicket which is breaking up and the ball ‘going through the top’ on Day 1 and Day 2. It’s almost impossible to bat on.

It’s spinning big, and it’s also spitting off a length with the next one almost rolling.

    This isn’t test cricket.

It is poor but is it really as bad as we're making it look? Rohit managed to get 160odd on his own!

Pant didn't look like it was bothering him either!

Another great catch from Pant. Just as we looked to be starting to score too.

How come Broad is so far down the order? I remember when he was almost an all-rounder

Since he got hit in the Kite about 7 years ago he averages about 2.5.

The pitch is almost unplayable against Ashwin.

Our biggest shortfall was highlighted by one of the commentators yesterday when they said that Root was bowling because he could be trusted to bowl less full tosses or short stuff.
Sad state of affairs if we can’t turn out spinners the captain can trust.

    Blame country cricket. Blame T20.

We play country cricket in April and September, spinners are lucky to get a bowl let alone find some consistency by bowling lots of overs.

In a world where Darren Stevens still trundles up and bowls dibbly fibbers at 65mph and gets 60 wickets a year what hope is there!

India’s openers don’t appear to have any problems with the pitch. Indeed, they’re attacking the bowling without any fear or trepidation.

We always get beat when we don't bat first. No players that can handle scoreboard pressure. As for comments about the pitch India are having a gang bang they're having a ball. Our backs are truly against the wall.

Please can we have the minefield pitch back that England supposedly batted on!

Have to agree. It’s a crap test match wicket, too much in favour of the bowlers. It’s the same in England when they produce green seamers that Darren Stevens takes wickets on, but at least that’s generally at county level not test.

I know they’re 36/0 now but it’s completely different batting and bowling when you know what the result is.

Bloody hell, I thought Darren Stevens had retired years ago! He must be mid-late forties now!!
