    Why would it.. facilities and setup plus reputation for development of young players. If anything it would make us more competitive in the championship. These teams who throw money about wouldn't be able to do so anymore.

    Yep, why can’t we be good enough in the remaining games to accumulate enough points to stay up? To me, that is as plausible an outcome as any other.

    If they ended it and promoted top 2, I would not be surprised to see the Portsmouth owner go down this route either.
    He’s another American who worked/ran a company that would sue people at a drop of a hat

    What are the bottom 3 in the Premiership doing?
    If they challenge any move to relegate them then there will be a knock on effect inasmuch as no one can be promoted from the Championship. If it's not possible to promote from the Championship then there shouldn't be any relegating either from that division.

    Re salary cap. Not read too much about it.
    When would they consider bringing it in. You can’t cap spending on wages until contracts run out. May take some clubs a few yrs before being able to fall into line. ?.

    Why are the league so bothered about saving dead wood football clubs? I'd rather have a stronger league without Macclesfield, Forest Green, Morecambe, Newport, Stevenage.

    There are clubs that come into the league and might even reach the dizzy heights of a League 1 play-off campaign but they are still non league in stature.

    Football is very much a closed house. It's no surprise that in League 2 it's your Northampton, Swindon and Plymouth's are up there yoyoing between League 2 and League 1.

    I could stretch that to us in League 1 and the Championship.

    The quality is diluted as a result. You end up with decent players spread across two divisions.

    Harsh but I'd let a few fold.

    The problem is football clubs have fans and its unfair on them to lose the club they love. But if any other business was run in a unsustainable way it would ultimately cease to exist.
    As Conway as pointed out the current system actually punishes clubs who follow the rules as the rules aren't enforced on everyone.
    The way things are across the game currently I just think scrap FFP and the let the clubs and owners do what they like. Essentially they are anyway so why not just be upfront about it.

    Using your logic, there's no reason for the top 6 PL teams to say get rid of Barnsley and Luton they're never going to do any better than bottom of the Championship.

    I would happily accept relegation if it meant all clubs could save money by not having to play games and the clubs you mention stayed in business.

    My point was why should teams like Barnsley suffer because Macclesfield Town couldn't run a **** up in a brewery?

    Macclesfield is a completely different case because their owner has f'cked off to Ibiza and left them to rot. the other clubs you state are not in that position, Forest Green for example are a very progressive club.

    If Barnsley never return to the Championship after relegation it doesn't matter because at least Forest Green are progressing nicely.

    Not only progressive in Forest Green's case , but club's with history too.....Forest Green were.formed in 1889.....Macclesfield are older the the Reds....formed 1874
