As @Gally stated above, it’s another example of someone who either can't understand or simply refuses to comprehend the difference between the individual wealth of the members of the consortium and that of the club.
Is that you are you having a wind up !? I’ve got a fiver each on it being either Keith Lemon or Alan Carr (chatty man)
He’s taking a step down and going to a much less powerful club. Nudge you’ve lost any remaining thread of credibility you had. We are owned by a consortium of businessmen who are allegedly worth £15-20billion collectively. They have multiple business interests. Most of them probably higher priority than Barnsley Football Club. We do not have billions and will not have for the foreseeable future - possibly never. They aren’t going to throw money at it. Let that absorb. This goes to many others too.
Classic case today of this is the debacle over the East Coast Rail franchise in that Virgin can only probably sustain the service for eight more months at least due to financial issues. The trains bear the livery of its founder Richard Branson who has a personal wealth of £5.3 billion but instead of stepping in to save the company, he's prepared to let its name be dragged through the mud.
Anybody listen to Football Heaven tonight.? I put it on around 6.40pm and caught the back end of Andy Ritchie talking about Barnsley under Paul Hart and his own management of the Reds. He must have commented on the Heckingbottom situation, but I missed it. Be interested to hear his take on it. After he'd been on , there was a gobsh*te of a Wednesday fan saying that football is a brutal game and given his recent run of games, PH would have been sacked anyway if he couldn't start winning, so he thinks Barnsley fans should just give up moaning. Hope we can put three past them on Saturday.
