You mention that Hermes was the god of sleep twice. At least that explains their delivery times. :);):D

Disagree, as a nation we gave up on a guaranteed jobs back in the 70s and created a system that gives an ever decreasing pittance to the less fortunate who we continue to demonise. We need to move to something that gives those that don’t work respect , universal income.

They are wrongly demonised because of the large numbers for whom it is a lifestyle choice. They should be named and shamed imo

Being stripped away? In some areas of employment rights we gave more than the EU required. And as for slave labour, do you really believe that hysterical nonsense?

Gave being the most operative word. Past tense. This is now, wait and see. And yes I do believe this vile government is capable of anything.

Both are dishonest. Cheating the system and trying to get more than they deserve. Equal. You can't defend one cheat whilst slating the other.

You don't know anyone who doesn't want work? That's shocked me because I know a lot and that number rises every day. I also know a lot of people who would love a job

Naming and shaming by courts not by people in the internet trying to score points.

could you possibly name as a percentage the amount the country loses through benefit fraud as opposed to tax avoidance?

In fact f**k it il look myself, 4 billion v 35 billion!! This isn’t a race to the bottom, see where the real enemy lays.

Pompey Red I agree with you that resource should be put in to chasing tax dodging rather than benefit fraud, but this this discussion has not been about benefit fraud. At least not as I read it, more about if people should be forced to work, heaven knows what sort of work mind you and let’s not even start to consider what problems these folks have. Can’t we start to support folk, build a system that encourages ?

The enemy as you put it are both cheats who are essentially stealing money.
Take benefits away from the lazy workshy and give more to those who need it. That isn't a race to the bottom it's helping those at the bottom.

By trying to justify their cheating by saying "but someone else is worse"

There is no way that any government would do what you are predicting. I won't convince you but let's see where we are in five years.
