I'm not sure he's second fiddle to Palmer currently. Reckon they'll have played a similar number of minutes and had a similar number of starts by the end of the season. Kane is still only 22 (younger than Palmer), and his previous experience is at a lower level, bar a 7 game spell at Hull. I wouldn't read too much into the fee, Liverpool will get far higher fees for other u23s players.

I don't think his performances have been as bad as people make out on here sometimes, it's a thankless role that he has to play. And he definitely has the talent / potential to do well for us. Wouldn't expect him to boss games yet. That's Mowatt's job at the moment.

 

£1.2m is pretty much pin money in the championship these days. The problem is that we pay some decent money for young players with little or no championship experience and our supporters expect them to perform like seasoned 26/27 year olds worth 3, 4 or more times what we can afford.

 

We paid the same for Thomas , should he also be running the game ?

 

I think he will come good. He’s very young and still relatively inexperienced.
Think back to Mowatt when he first arrived and how good he is now

 

It's not pin money to us.

My point is for what we've paid up to now we've had little or no return. Hence Palmer imho providing a better option.

 

He couldn't run my bath never mind a game............. the spreadsheet must have had a major wobble that day !!!

 

In 12 months time we will be worrying how we are going to replace him when a big bid comes in the summer.

I dont think he has hit anything like he is capable of yet but it will come.

I must say I don't have any issues with any member of our current first team squad. Each and every one of them gives 100% to the cause when wearing the shirt, even if they're not on top of their game personally.
If we're talking about Kane in particular, I think we've not seen the best of him, yet. I certainly won't write him off.

 

Kane are you having a laugh he tried to cross the ball from the corner and it didnt get off the ground. His passing was generally poor the fact was Morris and Dike made the difference with Mowatt stepping up his game from the first half were he had been under par. Kane has shown me nothing that makes me think he is a Championship player.

 

I'm certainly not writing him off. I've a few mates who are Donny fans who rave about him.

In a Red shirt up to now I've not seen it. I seriously hope we get to see it. I really do. System? Lack of game time? New start? Higher level? Bad luck? .........
