Who would have thought it would ever be made in to a Football terrace chant.

My thoughts too. Sollbauer was a reliable, solid centre-back with experience, but he isn't on Helik's level in my opinion.

I'd disagree on that one @troff. Pinnock had it all for me; he covered a lot of ground without the ball too (defensively), he's good in the air, good at tackling, tracking, blocking and having that physical presence even for a skinny tall guy. He was a great passer of the ball and rarely gave it away. And remember, in that league 1 team we often played two at the back :D

Well, my feelings on him have been consistent, wasn't bothered when we sold him either.

For me sol and roberts were not as good as helik. But pinnock wasnt just good with the ball at his feet he was a class defender he was a regular in the brentford defence that won promotion with the best defensive record in the league that season. Mawson was better than helik aswell both have played in the premiership.

We have had better center halves pinnock and mawson been 2 for me. Was helik good? Yes far too good for league one. Did we get less than we should have? Most likely.

Helik, was a decent player for us, as i saw things, admit i don't watch Barnsley week in week out, but footballs like any other sport, we all see things differantly.

I really rated Alfie Mawson but I found it bizarre when he played premier league level. I didn’t see him quite that good - he even ended up in the England squad I think at one point. He exceeded my expectations for him and good luck to him.

Unfortunately it hasn’t taken long for him to drop levels. I think League One is too low for him, he was great for Wycombe on our worst day this season.

Pinnock is a rolls Royce, the game comes easy to him. Overall he’s a better player than Helik, hence he finds himself where he does - but I maintain that Helik is a better natural defender than Pinnock. Old fashioned centre back in some ways.
