Stendel’s side played better football in League One in comparison to Hecky’s League One side.

Can’t really argue that Stendel’s football has been better at this level because we’ve been pretty sh*te since the first game. I suppose football is always more ‘attractive’ when you’re getting results.

I’m not sure why we would rip into to great Coaches.

The similarity is Hecky was greatly let down by the Board. Stendel was greatly let down by the Board. The new coach will be..........ad finitum.

I think it’s your age Gally.
Most have selective memories and just recollect Heckys fall - that’s after he had his team sold from under him.
But film clips showing Scowen, Hourihane, Watkins and Winnall overrunning the competition are still there to see.
    They were a fantastic team.
And how many have done owt since they left Barnsley.
Which is another real indication of how good Hecky can be.

    Just to cover them.

Scowen has consistently played at a level above Barnsley ever since he left.
Hourihane is shining in the premier league.
Watkins is the same as Scowen.
Winnall is a cripple although he did play for Derby last season on loan and has played for Weds this season.

Stendel was the more impressive in every regard in my opinion. Both did a good job though before coming a cropper.

exactly this! anyone who blames coaches or players is wrong, comparing them is fine but both were not dealt the same hand

Heckys first season back in the Champs was one of the best for the last 16 years for the first part along with the season Hill had us just outside the playoffs

If we fail to win the next 2 games it would be the worst winless run since 1971 according to the chron, setting records at either end of the spectrum.

    Well said that man.
If only everyone on the BBS understood that point.
    And stuck to it.
If you want to get involved in the debate - then play the ball - and not the man (or women).

Just in case anyone is missing the glaringly obvious, YN is suggesting we get Hecky back....

I'm convinced your just on wind up with all this hecky stuff. As much as he did great to get us up I'd mush rather watch pressing attacking football. No question for me stendels football was the better to watch.

I wish I hadn't of bit to be honest.

Hecky got to keep the side he got promoted with under cryne. Soon as connor went we were ****** and so was hecky.

Stendel was manager in the worst summer window ever. selling top goalscorers 4 days before the window shut, sold our player of the season and his center back partner and replaced with kids.
