Can’t believe I actually clicked on this thread still after seeing the title.

Hecky is nothing like Hill and I’d choose Hecky every day of the year (let alone week).

    Hill pleased with Greening capture

“I’m looking for Jonathan to be our handbrake on the enthusiasm we have, someone to control things, to instil an intelligent energy and bring everything together,” said Hill.

“He has an abundance of ability, a mentality that is Premier League, it’s not something that you lose. He will be able to harness and embrace the energy we have as a team on pitch.

“It’s a little bit like the wife - a handbrake.”

    Fuckwit.

How do you know he has no say in who we sign ? Is it all guess work with you or do you just make it up as you go along ?

He is the head coach not the manager

I gave you the benefit of the doubt with the Hill/Hecky comparison as there as a little bit of credibility to that assessment, in that neither had any real funds to play with and both lost key players to make life difficult.

Saying this team and manager couldn't do it in league one is just a wild guess though. No one knows that do they?

Actually think we'd have a potentially decent side for div1 .Obviously want to stay in championship mind .

I understand the comparison but Hill’s heart wasn’t in it anymore. He’d lost his enthusiasm, he was a sitting duck almost begging to be sacked for weeks before his sacking & rather than developing young players all his signings tended to be from the same agent who represented Hill & Flitcroft.

Hecky’s trying to build a brand new team not just a brand new midfield & develop a team of kids & he’s still full of enthusiasm.

I don't mind this comparison in the situation, KH team with vaz, Drinks and Butters was heading for the playoffs, same as Heckys' last year. I did feel at times yesterday I could be watching KH team - several passes across the back then someone hits it long at Bradders, if you watched the game yesterday you can't deny it. Thing is personality goes a long way- Hill was a massive tool, Hecky is a good man with an honest and straightforward countenance.

Some very short memories on here. People forget how cr*p we all thought CH & JS et al were pre xmas in league 1. Personally believe the current crop have more potential than the old lot did, just need time & patience.
There were plenty that reckoned CH was league 2 level at best. As Hecky says, our problem currently is mainly without the ball, that can be coached given time.
We are still creating chances, just not taking them.
