To be fair the YouTube subtitles do say auto generated in nice clear letters

Struggling to see why I'm the bad guy here. I made a constructive observation and a club official with whom.i have no axe to grind the placed a sarcastic remark

 

Furthermore why is it wrong to make a positive post

 

Weird things going on in this thread. Tyrone made a fair enough remark if he genuinely didn't know and just a response of 'they are automatically generated' would have done and made him aware of that fact rather than the response he did receive. On the flip side I have no idea why he couldn't read the bit that says they are automatically generated by Youtube that is next to the subtitles button (unless I guess they did come on automatically and so he may not have even seen said button). Either way, just letting him know that was the case would have shut him up and we wouldn't have needed 3 pages about it.

 

They didn't come on automatically for me. I didn't even know it was possible to switch on subtitles on YouTube.

 

He responded to a public post on a public forum saying what he would like to see improved in his opinion. I don't think he was asking you specifically to go and improve catering when you go into work next. If anyone posts anything not directly related to media in any of your threads/threads you have contributed in, you tend to shut them down these days and say that it's not your job. You bemoan the fact that people are seeing you as a 'point of contact' but take every response about BFC along the lines that people are replying to you as 'YT the Media Man' not just 'Whitey the Barnsley fan having a chat on a forum'. (I'm aware that Tyrone did respond to you in that way under his pretence of not knowing who you are).

I don't think you need to quit the forum (again ) or anything like that as you are a great contributor, I think you are just struggling to align your work role with your just a Barnsley fan in real life persona on here and mixing the two in your mind. It's also not fully clear which persona you are wishing to project on here, are you posting in an Official capacity (as a lot of your replies and your username seem to indicate) or just as yourself and one of us?

 

They didn't for me either but I think you can set it to do so if you are logged into youtube. No idea why he would have that setting enabled though (especially as he claims to know nothing about the functionality) and surely he would have noticed that they are usually absolutely rubbish if he normally has them on. As I said, weird from all angles.

For myself a couple of people hijacked a positive story with random and unnecessary back biting diluting the original story. Felt wrong.

Never mind professional communicators, I think we'd struggle to field a team of decent amateurs.
