    9/10.
Brought pride back to the county and restored a winning mentality. If we'd won more white ball cricket it would be a 10.
People are blinded by limited overs cricket. For me Gillespie has made us the most feared County Champioshipnside for years.

The club are low on Money Ryhill and the County Champ offers you nothing to improve that.

    Northampton captain spoke about it.

I know t20 and all that guff pay the most, but the championship is still the pinnacle for me.

Hemsy actually covered my view quite well but i'll give it anyway. If it was based on just the county championship where crowds are poor and we beat our bogey team Middlesex to win a third in a row i'd give him a 9.5/10. But based on us being the biggest county and most successful ever we've struggled in limited overs. I would put my 6 to a 7 if we win a third county championship in a row. He came in at a great time where a decent squad of players should always get promoted at the first time of asking. He's openly slagged off one of the biggest investors the club has because of his views on animals. I wouldn't expect for example Hecky to come out and slag off Puma.

In limited overs he's carried on our poor semi final record that now stands at 17 defeats in 20 games going back to 1979 and hasn't reached a T20 final in five attempts. He seems to have his favourites and be willing to break up a successful together team to try and find places for part time players. With overseas players he's like Keef with Rochdale due to his love of Australians. Guys like Finch and Maxwell didn't come off and it cost us at the start of this season waiting for Williamson to arrive and then he left quickly and we waited for Head who also left fast. No stability.

He's done well don't get me wrong but with our resources and stature you'd expect it.

Stature? We've won 3 county championships in my lifetime and 2 of them have been under Gillespie's 3 year tenure (despite him taking over with us in division 2). In fact if I'd been born in 1969 instead of 1981 we'd still have only won 3 titles in my lifetime.

And seem to simply disregard the fact most of our better players never get to play.

I'd argue that we actually have a very good bunch that with a couple of additions would be great in all competitions. The trouble for me is in the actual set up that lets you nurture players and then they get ripped away by the England set up and you have no control over when its likely to happen, OK Joe root you can count out but the others can flit in and out

Exactly how I feel about things!

I dont think it's as easy as (for example)Hemsy thinks it to just go out and recruit the best limited over players. I'm sure a number of players out there will be put off by the fact we have a habit of dropping players who have played well(Hodd being an example) to accommodate our centrally contracted players when they are available. I know David Willie mentioned it in an interview when he signed that Yorkshire have a reputation for it and he will have to be at his very best to keep his place. His view might have changed now he's forced his way into the England team and is knocking on the Test door though...
