I've two girls who play and I've attended league matches and international matches (over the last 4/5 years). I think that the increase in technical ability over the last few years is incredible. I think what is different compared to the men's game is the explosive athleticism, that's why Lucy Bronze is so good, because she has that explosive ability that most women don't have, she makes 50/60 yard runs beating 3 and 4 players regularly. It's different to men's football. I enjoyed the matches and found myself shouting at the TV as much as I do watching England men's team. We were a few inches and a well struck penalty away from an incredibly important win. Girls football is growing significantly. 10 and 11 year old girls are getting closer to their male counterparts in terms of technical ability as they are playing and training regularly. This will filter upwards in terms of depth and quality in the next 10 years or so. The gap is closing. A bit like athletics, men will always be faster, but watching a women's track race is still exciting and entertaining.

I watch quite a bit of women's football because the national league is televised here in Australia. It is perfectly fine to watch. As with all sports, once you get to know who the competitiors are it becomes far more interesting. At club level there are some discrepancies in ability on the same pitch but that is to be exected from a growing sport with a growing talent pool.

I certainly don't subscribe to the view that women's football is inferior to men's football because they are less powerful and lose badly when they play each other. Of course they do. But it's idiotic thinking. Using that logic all boxing weights except heavyweight are pointless because an average heavyweight would be able to crush an all time champion of a lower weight. But we know that lower weight classes produce excellent fights. Like touring car racing? Pointless because Formaula 1 cars lap far quicker. Yet we know that touring car races are far more entertaining.

There have been some mistakes on show at the world cup but certain people seem to forget that the men regularly make these howlers too.

It's not for me I'm afraid. But then again, I can't even be arsed to watch mens international football these days either.

I think I'm just a Barnsley fan rather than a football fan.

I’m of the same attitude when it comes to the men’s internationals, I find myself switching over halfway through because I’m bored, I’m same with the premiership, half the time I’ve no idea of the scores unless I’ve caught match of the day

It was over hyped to the point it was coming close to being force fed by the media especially the Beeb.

The quality overall is poor outside the top teams.

Its not the same pace as the mens game.

VAR ruined alot of the games.

However, i enjoyed watching England play. Possibly as I can relate to them as our national team more than individual players.

Would I watch womens football again?

Id say so if it was international tournament games but WSL?

    I doubt it.

It’s been interesting and something I’ve been able to watch with my daughter. I think radio 5 were getting carried away Tuesday morning though, female presenter saying they’re as good as the men. It’s worth remembering the USA team lost to DC United U15s last year in a friendly 5-nil.
Also VAR will ruin the game as a spectacle, that much is clear.

I've enjoyed the couple of games I've watched but I can't see myself ever watching it other than England in a world cup. I expect it will continue to grow in popularity - women's tennis is huge and to me that compares a lot less favourably with the men's sport than women's football does.
