This is just a shot in the dark here, but I wonder if JM has dropped his as a way to stamp his authority on the club? I know it's something managers do. Like I say, theres no evidence to it, but just a thought...
I think people are a bit quick in writing Adams obituary , we have not seen the last of him yet & remember , if we do drop , he would be invaluable in the fight to return
Yes it is. How do you know that he wants to do any coaching badges anyway? He wears his heart on his sleeve, but we know he can be hot-headed and impetuous. He also has a criminal record - assaulting two female paramedics whilst drunk in Liverpool. He pleaded guilty and expressed remorse - and received appropriate punishment - drink can make people do the stupidest things - but I'm afraid it's on his CV. He is based in Liverpool, although he has a flat in Barnsley which he uses - for his convenience. He has two children, but I am not certain if he is still in a relationship with their mother. He's a scouser - not saying that's bad - he's not a Barnsley lad. I wish him well. He's at that stage of his career, where, as you say, it is possible he may drop down the leagues - it's what a career as a professional footballer means and knowing what to do when it ends can't be easy....not all ex footballers go into coaching/management/ - some become detectives like Arjan De Zeeuw! I just hope that Adam stays the right side of the law!!
Bit wrong on his personal life. He’s always been with the mother of his kids & they live together in a house at Woolley Edge & have done since around the time he signed his contract to stay with us after promotion. He’s said in interviews that he wants to have the rest of his career & study for his coaching badges & hopefully stay at the club after he retires from playing. Lives on the same estate as Aidy White & Mamadou Thiam
Without doubt we have had excellent service from Hamill in the past but since we played Newcastle at home last season and he got subbed off having a set too with the then manager he spent 2-3 months on the bench and haven't played the same since ( no goals very few attempts on goal and very few assists the new owners and management won't stand for him being a primal Donna who expects to be the first name on the sheet he will have to perform (like we know he can)
Very few attempts on goal and very few assists? While it is true that the strikers have kept missing his chances it is totally untrue that he has very few attempts on goal or that he creates chances. I have watched a professionally created video of all the chances created by hammill and all the shots he has had and it's a hell of a lot and should have resulted in quite a few goals but for piss poor attacking from the strikers. There is also a similarly professional video of all the work he puts in defending. It's professionally created and shows every bit of key defensive work he's done. It's a longer video for him than for other more defensive players... People seem to focus on the fact nobody has scored from his chances and think that means hammill is poor, nobody seems to realise that it's because he's spending half his time covering for the poor midfielders, helping out the defence or that the strikers couldn't hit a cows arse
Morais pointed out the number of players who missed Tuesday nights game purely due to the size of our squad. Hedges, McCarthy, Fryers, Mahoney and Mallan (just off the top of my head). He appeared to have a game plan yesterday which didn't really afford room for wingers so I suppose his reasoning to leave him out was justified.
We have a large squad, and therefore some players in that squad will not make team for a particular match. I think its OTT to say his career is over because he hasn't made the bench against Brum.
Just looking back at my previous post on Adam. It does come across as though I've written him off at BFC. What I probably should have worded better is that he's not the player he was. He's still a valuable member of the squad though and can contribute. There's going to come a time when he can't, as with all players. As long as he wants to and is able to contribute at the club in whatever capacity I'd love to keep him. He's shown loyalty and affection for the club and has given us some of our finest moments.
