    Not Watson to be honest.
But I would also suggest Baker and Steele and Muller etc.

Watson would have played for England if things had gone differently with injury.

Muller was every bit good enough to play for Germany I reckon.

Yeah Clive was very agile and despite his shorter than normal height (for a keeper), I don't think he had a problem with lobs/chips.

Muller was a weird one. He’d played less than 100 games at 29-year-old when he joined us. A season and a half here, he was cracking. Saved a ridiculous penalty against Wolves was it? And he just looked the most secure goalkeeper I’ve seen for us. After his knee injury, he only played another 70 or so games apparently, but made the Bundesliga team of the season before he retired.

As good as I’ve seen, albeit not in the top flight where I saw Watson. I wasn’t a Watson lover. Good shot-stopper, quick for a goalie too. And he was still young really, when his injury came about. But high balls, crosses and his decision making were all lacking. However, he’s the Prem ‘keeper and that’s a big box ticked.

Steele falls in the same bracket as Dave, similar ‘keeper, and the moments I link him with are special - debut at Anfield, double penalty save at Reading, the great escape. Just a really likeable bloke and I can only think fondly of him.

Davies came as a free as a youngster after relegation when we had about four players left, and battled all the way to make the gloves his own. Two Wembley wins, automatic promotion as captain, EFL and PFA team of the year, over 200 games I think. The display away at Donny in 2019, and at Pompey where he saved a penalty soon after, huge moments in that campaign. Unbeaten at Oakwell and had a great number two in Walton pushing him.

Collins also had to fight for his place. Criminally underused in his time here. I thought under Big Val he was absolutely superb, it’s as good as I’ve seen a ‘keeper across a full season. Again, he had to fight with Walton. Played that sweeper ‘keeper role so well and was an even better sh*thouse than Davo. Absolutely mental that Duff preferred Isted. Not knocking the latter, but yeah, crazy stuff and other than a few months of Roberts a couple of years back, we’ve had to suffer since he left.

I grew up on Baker and Butler but was a bit too young to be a confident judge on their ability. I rated Miller when we got to Wembley under Bassett. Back when we were able to go and buy proven quality. Crazy to think these days. Need a striker? We’ll get that Sheron lad who scored 30 the other year. Or million pound teenager Dyer. And the quality centre forward, Shipperley. These days we are treated to Clem Fandango.

    Rambling.

I’ll go Adam Davies. Brad Collins on the bench.

Yeah and along with Chris O'Grady, I was really disappointed to see Luke Steele go after our relegation, in the summer of '14.
What was it with Luke, did we try to keep him then, or was he going regardless. Because we were down and he just wanted to stay in the Championship ?.

Muller for me, then Watson a close 2nd, Steele/Davies/Collins/Baker with not a rizzla between them for 3rd.

He was a flapper at corners.. opposition would leave three players on the edge of the box waiting because they knew Muller wouldn't catch it but palm it as far as the 18 yard line. As big as a mountain should be catching everything that comes into the six yard box..
Adam Davies never came for crosses neither.. stayed rooted to his line..
Sorry but massive no-no from me a keeper that won't/can't command is own six yarder way too many goals conceded by poor goalkeeping..
My best would be Luke Steele.

I’m not biased and say Hough.
He played 8 seasons for us and had a record of 160 odd games in a row.
Never seen him play but had the honour of meeting him at Filey golf club… huge hands

He might have flapped occasionally but he couldn't half punch a ball clear and any in rushing player knew that if he missed the ball he'd connect with them. That would certainly put me off I don't know about you.

Muller felt way too good to be with us. Just an absolute beast before the injury. Real shame that he wasn't quite the same afterwards
