    South Elmsall is the motorbike, while Crofton is the side car. It's not proper Wakefield that.

    Postcode is WF4 so it is proper Wakefield. I know what you mean though, a lovely village like Crofton is out of place in a dump like Wakefield.

    I'm from proper Wakefield, the real part, not the South Elmsall part that steals a WF postcode!

    Newmillardam is a tourist attraction, not a real place, and definitely not Crofton's side car.

    (family before me are all from Crofton by the way)

    Drop the South Emsall bit it's wrong! Croftons surrounding villages: Walton, Sharlston, Nostell, Winterset.

    We used to live in one room. All 26 of us.

    Great big holes in't floor. We used to all huddle together in one corner for fear of falling. We used to get up in the morning at 10 o'clock at night half an hour before we went to bed. We went to work darn 't mill for 29 hours a day AND we paid for permission to go to work. When we got home, ar dad would slice us in two wi 't bread kneef, if we were lucky.

    And you try telling that to the young people of today! They won't believe yer. They won't I tell yer!
