Just saw a bit of this - an eloquent view on the state of racism in the States http://t.ted.com/WPUcQmU
'Weird' how in a 'democracy' the 'national guard' have to cover their faces. Reminds me of US soldiers in Iraq.
Aren’t they masks for Covid? not that they should be required to protect the national monument, maybe they’re desperate to stop a latter day MLK figure making a speech.
Tell you what, if I see #alllivesmatter anywhere again then I might cave my TV in. The country is fcked.
It's really sad this george floyd thing, the bloke tries to pay in a shop with a fake note and gets a officer who puts his knee in his kneck resulting in his death. Then the half wits in england on social media compare his death to grooming gangs in yorkshire and I saw another saying we didnt riot when lee Rigby was killed..... things like this always end up bringing the worst out of a small minority.
I have every sympathy for George Floyd, his family, friends and the many American sympathisers protesting against his untimely death, but the sight of the Good Morning presenter Alison Hammond in her home in Birmingham crying whilst shouting " Black lives matter", was slightly over the top for me.
Hopefully people can see this. Just wanted to make an informed judgement on systemic racism in America.
Interesting piece.... https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/jun/04/philadelphia-armed-white-men-george-floyd-protests
https://nypost.com/2020/06/02/george-floyd-had-violent-criminal-history-minneapolis-union-chief/ I didn't know about his criminal past. I haven't see the press mention it anywhere.
Here's some more cowardly pig-scum pushing over an old man and giving him a severe head injury. He's currently in hospital in a serious condition. They initially said, the man had "tripped" and fallen during a "skirmish involving protesters". Pig-scum are liars. Police arresting key workers who are allowed out after curfew.
Policeman speaking to white militia in Salem asking them to stay in their vehicles "so it doesnt look like they're playing favourties"
