I love a Bert pluck. He's plucking up in a left speaker as I listen to this. Somebody's done a good job . He's one of the best.
We just have different views of music. I don’t see it as a linear thing that we give labels. Folk music to me is just localised music of the of the soul. Here the electronic sounds are the acoustic. They replace the Guitar and the voice. ‘Moods for moderns’ Otherwise it’ll all be Jeff Buckley or Nick Drake. Folk has moved on.
Fair comment but worth seeing live if you get the chance. They're touring the UK again later in the year.
Well I'm trying to work on the basis that acoustic means "no electricity to play" Which is what I asked for. it might be what people like me like, without gatecrashers. So you are free to start your own thread. Soz mate.
Someone on here introduced me to this a while back. Sad to say, I've forgotten who it was, but thank you whoever you are.
Excellent fingerwork but lacking emotional input. It's got to attack your soul rather than being a show on how well you can play your instrument.
Nah I will just go with what I consider to be acoustic music. It may not match up with what you think is acoustic music. That’s the joy of music.
It's acoustic mate. It could be folk or many other aspects of unplugged. Why should it have moved on anyway? I'm searching for everyone's acoustic favourites. From memory. I'm not looking for replacements. Why should anyone move one? Come on - you can't dump your electronics on an acoustic thread. Shirley.
Even Bob moved on. I once read an interview with Woody Guthrie probably the king of ‘traditional’ acoustic music and his view was that music constantly evolves that he was a disciple of Leadbelly and Bob followed him but all were folk acoustic music.
