The subject of Social Care needs serious cross party talks and agreement. As the population gets older social care is going to cost eye watering amounts of money and the system has to change or it will collapse. We will all need to pay more to cover this and I think most people recognise and accept this, it is just how that we need to sort out.

It needs to be a change in long term approach that is agreed across the political spectrum so we get it right and it sticks for the long term. We can't afford for it to be subject to political interference every few years as the colour of the government changes. I just hope that we have politicians now that can be grown up about it.

It didn't help that Labour jumped on any suggestion of change last time around and labelled it the dementia tax for political gain, but to be fair, Teresa May made a big mistake bringing up the sensitive issue in the middle of an election campaign as she should have realised it would be a hot potato.
