Stop trying to compare a football club to an ordinary business, they never have been, and never will be, the same.
First game 1974 when you weren't even a twinkle in yer Dad's twinkle. Go on admit it you've missed me, go on, go on........ Also, are you still on that diet ? nah I don't blame you it wasn't working was it ?
It remains to be seen who's the biggest business cretin. The stick in the mud or the one with imagination.
I'd take eight of those at that price. Do you know it might even re- kindle my interest in footie to the level that next year maybe, possibly, could be... might get a season ticket. I was so fed up when I gave up two seasons ago after 40 seasons, (yes that's forty, Redstar my rotund pie munching friend) that I thought I'd never go back.
I agree except for the loss of ST holders who switch to flex ticket. Maybe that is why this has been back healed until after the ST deadline passed.
Interestingly I've just had my renewal pack through for my Club Yorkshire membership for next season. So 6 months before the cricket season starts I'm being offered: Full membership (all matches) £205 One Day games only £115 T20 season ticket £70 Club Yorkshire (2 free games and discounts on other matches) £30 All of these available upfront and with varying degrees of additional benefits depending on level of membership.
This is a very, very good point that should be mentioned more. If two people who are sharing a season ticket decides to each buy an 8 game flexi, as mentioned above, instead that means the club would get £320 (pretty much the price of a normal ST). This would be preferable to those fans as they can choose their own 8 games rather than having to decide who gets to go and could even go to matches together. It is preferable for the club as they have 2 people's details to target adverts at directly and a clearer idea of the demographic who make up the attendance. Each of those fans would also feel more valued and as a result probably more likely to attend more often.
I want a flexi-ticket. I've wanted one for more years than I can remember. The club know I've wanted one. Every season. Work patterns dictate I get to 5 or 6 games a season at most. Sell me an eight-game flexi for £150/£160 and you can have the money now, and I'll pull every string I can to get to those extra games. I don't want any preferential treatment for cup ties.....I don't even want a guaranteed ticket for any one game; if I don't get off my arse and book a ticket for a particular game and that game sells out, then that's my loss. If I don't make all eight games, then that's also my loss - the club get my money, whether I make one game or all eight. Simple, simple, simple. Eight vouchers in a book - £150/£160. I want a ticket? I book one through the normal channels, exchanging one of my eight vouchers. Been banging on about this ad nauseum.
