I can’t see this squad troubling the top six of league one, it would need adding to. And it wouldn’t be added to. Maybe in terms of replacing numbers but it wouldn’t be improved. It would be decimated. If we keep Woodrow, as well as maybe Mowatt and Dougall in January, they’ll be gone in June. Cavare will be out of contract. Radlinger only has one year, lucky him. Collins will attract bids. We would have to change attitude to not sell him. We will probably be able to retain Diaby, Andersen, Halme, Sibbick, the two Williams’. Makings of a decent if not great league one back 4. Up front, Schmidt and Bahre probably. Chaplin. Thomas. Wilks will be playing for AFC HMP. If we are lucky there will be a contract clause saying Leeds have to give us some of the money back and we can cancel his contract worth no penalty if he’s sent down. McGeehan was good in league one with a better player alongside him. Would he be good as the leader - has he even got a contract beyond this year? I, for the record, haven’t quite written this season off completely. But I’m not exactly confident we have a decent chance of survival. Whilst I don’t think they’d necessarily be awful in league one in 2020/21, I’d say if and when we are there, we’d have a bigger chance of going down to league two than getting back in the championship. I can honestly see a massive fall from grace a la Portsmouth, the owners ******* off with their pockets filled and us fans having to step in as nobody else will want us
Sorry but I have no time for this. Calling people poo on a stick and dog toss is disrespectful to say the least. We're all agonising over the poor form and situation but resorting to personal insults is not the right thing to do. As a long time poster on here I thought you would know better.
Honestly I think there’s some small glimpses in most of these lads. The balance of the squad is just way off though - owners are clueless
I don't think we should be aiming any anger at the players. I would say most of that list (apart from Wilks maybe) are trying their best week in week out. Unfortunately their best is probably playoff level league one or equivalent as that is where we got them all and not the championship. If you look at most of our better players recent past and present they have had shaky starts or loans etc before they actually began playing consistently in our first team. Assembling a list of inexperienced players without the consistent spine of last season alongside was always gonna end one way. Diaby, Andersen, Chaplin etc should have been brought in to make the squad deeper and have time to earn their place via injury or loss of form to the existing first team.
