Really. When we had the midfield/attack ---------Davies Vaz te Butterfield O'brien ---Perkins Drinkwater I can't remember ever been too worried when we had that team. It was only post Christmas when 4/5 were out with either transfer/ loan return or injury it went slightly sour.
I think we might have to agree to differ on this one. That was a quality Brighton side who didn't have to get out of third gear. They will be top three at the end of the season. I thought we got a bit of a football education today - as we did against Reading. That's not to knock the players. They have more spirit, desire and quality than I've seen in a Barnsley team for a long long time.
He's a good player. He was at Leicester but the team allow him to be that player. They can shut it down in the centre of the pitch which we can't. You can see from the first goal today we don't have the discipline in there. Reading last week. Scowen today was good but he nor Hourihae can shut down a midfield. Scowen's a good player when he's allowed to get forward on the ball. I've said it a lot but you can see he becames a yard quicker when he can get between the oppo's midfield and defence and press them.
Knockeart is a good player no doubt about it, but what disappointed me today was that we showed him way too much respect. None of our players dared to put a foot in allowing him to go on those mazy runs time and time again towards our goal, one leading to their first goal. He was a key player today, and everyone knew he was likely to be before the game, but we didn't come up with a plan to deal with him. We must do better in that respect. Sent from my iPhone
This is why you grate on so many people Hemsie. Not one mention of congratulations to Hourihane on doing something you said he wouldn't - getting an international call up. Then as expected, after a defeat you can't wait to come on and act like the all-seeing messiah.
Don't think the lads deserve the stick they're getting for today. I've been and I didn't think it was as bad as people are making out. Didn't get the result, and we never really looked like getting a result, but there were periods in the second half where we were playing some good stuff. I'm not at all disappointed because I didn't expect anything from what's probably been our toughest fixture so far.
FFS - This shows once again how artificially contrived your posts are. Give up if you have to make it up! The above six started the princely sum of ONE game together. We lost. 5-3. At home. To Ipswich. Hill's team also visited Brighton that season. That Brighton side were half as good as their (hard pressing, experienced 4-4-2) team which I saw yesterday. We lost. Also 2-0.
@CaitlinG124 hopefully be October/November That's what he tweeted to someone when asked when he'd be back.
Next time you get back from a long away trip pop Babestation on, it'll just be starting and stop fretting.
Same here, Brigton were a side that last season failed to get Automatic promotion with 89 points!!! I will be amazed if they are not in the top 6 at the end of the season We were beaten fair and square but there wasnt a huge gulf in class - just Brighton were a bit better. Also they got an early goal which helped them no end. Our best game isnt trying to come from behind against a top side - who knows how the game would have gone if we had got the first goal, or it had stayed level for longer We could probably say the same about Reading last week. There are some very good teams in this division, the games we have lost so far are to Ipswich , Huddersfield and Brighton away and Reading home. Sides who will for sure be top half if not top 6. We are bound to lose some of these games, but as long as we keep picking ourselves up and having a go next game there are enough points there for us to finish well away from the bottom 3 Lets face it we have more points than I expected when I saw the fixture list. I'd have been happy with 10 points from our first 10 games and we are way ahead of that after only 9
