That was 2013. Money was bigger at those clubs then. Also he would have been joining a highly promising group at that time with the likes of England International Marcus Rashford the same age as James Bree.
There is far more money in the game now than in 2013. It's down to each individual what they want to do. If one of the top 6 premier league clubs come in and the player, adviser and family all want them to leave, they'll do exactly that. By the way... why do you have such a hatred of Bobby Hassell? It's bizarre it really is.
John Breckin (assistant manager to Mark Robins) told me that, in his opinion, Noble-Lazarus’ career was ruined by Simon Davey pushing him too early.
So to answer the question what got asked last week, why do we only seem to produce defenders - you reiterate my point. It's a lot easier to see potential in strikers because it can be purely based on statistics. I'm not really sure why you think there's LESS money at the big clubs nowadays compared to 10 year ago, but fair enough... For all you know, Bobby may convince him to stay. Then the first year into his pro contract, board wants to sell with a massive sell-on clause. Would you see that as Hassell failing? I really don't understand your agenda against a stalwart of the club. We can't even seem to have a conversation on here without you having subtle digs.
I disagree. The names Mentioned before me and the article quotes from Ronnie Branson are mainly of attacking players. Stones wasn't the STAR of that team. A team I watched a lot of. The star was Noble- Lazarus (year above) and Jordan Clark. The club mismanaged those players badly IMO. Brilliant to see Jordan Clark doing well at Luton. I don't dig at anyone. I just don't have rose-tinted glasses when it comes to anyone. I like to listen to Simon Jordan on talk sport. He's the same. Just brutally honest. I hope he does stay. But I don't get it at times. I see people more concerned at the club for allowing a Physio to leave or a data analysis than people that will push the club onto the next level.
Interesting what Bobby says with regards to experience helping the young & talented players to develop.
Interesting comments re stones and I will bow to your judgment as didn’t watch the youth team but I’m surprised - Stones is one of the few players I have seen come into the first team from the youth team and oozed complete class, I thought he looked head and shoulders above anything I have seen for his age.
I bet if Simon Jordan had been banned for a couple of years from Talksport for abusing someone he would then try very hard to avoid that topic if he was given a second chance in the future.... just a bit of common sense.
